Top tier quality, typical of Gulikit
The moduled Gulikit makes now are just plug and play, no soldering of the touch pads required, they're pre-installed and with the stick caps. The short version: If you like the lightest resistance, most sensitive sticks you can get, these are worth it as a day 1 upgrade. Feel wise, I have heard people say they couldn't really tell a difference. I can. The sticks are maybe 10-20% lighter in resistance to movement, so they feel faster and less sluggish than the (already very good) factory sticks. they're also noticeably more sensitive to very small inputs. I found precision aiming in FPS games DRAMATICALLY improved, I was more "gesturing" directions with the tips of my thumbs after setting the dead zones very small. (don't set them to full "zero", as they'll feel very nervous and twitchy just under the pressure of your thumb resting on them. I went with about 4000 on mine in the deck calibration) You also don't need to know before you buy if you have an A or B model (you can find out in the settings but don't need to check before you buy these) because these just come with a switch on the back that toggles between A and B, so they're compatible with all decks. just check the stick serial number before you start taking it apart. Install was a breeze. You need one small philips driver and a thin stiff pry tool (I had to use a metal one, my plastic ones weren't stiff enough) and just get an edge right in at the corner of the grip side of the shoulder buttons. Once you hear a satisfying "pop", don't run the tool down the side (it just won't work) but feel down until you get a "slot" in the body, insert the tool there, and pop again. Easy for a first timer, didn't leave a scratch on the case. Just follow gulikit's guide on their website, all you can skip now is the soldering and cap replacement steps since they're included now, and make sure you flip the switch on each controller to set it to A or B mode (if you're absolutely unsure, go with B. A versions were just the first steam decks, but it's right there in the settings to check) Before you close it up, calibrate them. There's a tiny button on the back of each stick module. Both of my sticks were at "zero" where they were slightly down and to the left. You correct this by pushing the stick a little bit further in the direction that it's errored (so for me, push slightly down and to the left) and then using your other hand, press the micro button on the back of the module, then release the stick. It took me 5-10tries to get it perfect for the left stick and one try for the right. It's a little fiddly, but should take under 2 minutes. You don't NEED to do this if you just set the deadzones larger, but it will feel less precise - it's not a defect with the sticks, your factory sticks were just calibrated at the factory, and you're doing what was done to it before it was boxed up. Overall, I would say for the tiny price of $30, these are a noticeable improvement to my hands. I already use a gulikit king kong pro 2 controller and these sticks feel identical - very light, very smooth, very precise. The difference might be subtle for some, but dramatic for others. For me, it was dramatic. I like featherlight sticks and heavier hall effect sticks like the 8bitdo ultimate are not pleasant to me. The factory sticks of the deck were pretty superb, but there's just an extra degree of lightness and sensitivity that the gulikit sticks bring to the party, and I found it had a big difference right where I found the factory ones lacking - ultra fine precision aiming. I was on the fence since so many people said they noticed no improvement, but I was in the mood to do some modding and I already knew gulikit made excellent stuff. And I'm glad I did.

An improvement to the older model
I had purchased a set of GuliKit joysticks for my Steam Deck previously. The old set didn't include the plastic bits from the joysticks, and they needed a wire soldered to the board to have the capacitive touch feature work with them. The old kit worked for a while, but it eventually lost the ability to return perfectly to center. A couple weeks ago, I bought a 2TB SSD for my Steam Deck, and while installing it, I tried pressing the recalibration button on the back of the older model GuloKit joysticks. Unfortunately, something must have went wrong, and as a result, my left joystick would lose calibration every time I put the Steam Deck in sleep mode. This is why I ordered a new set. Now that the background and prior experience with an earlier model has been explained, I will get into my review of this new revision: it just works. The joysticks came with everything preinstalled. No need to swap the plastic joystick bits. No need to solder. I just had to ensure the mode switch was set correctly, swap out the joystick modules, plug in the ribbon cables, and everything worked perfectly. Everything centered to absolute zero, and my zero remained consistent regardless of how many times I turned the system off and on. I didn't even have to use the calibration button on the joystick modules' PCB. This latest version simplified the installation process to require fewer tools and skills, and the updated design seems to be even more reliable and adaptable than the prior version I had installed. I'm sure my joysticks will eventually have the springs that center them wear down enough to no longer properly center them perfectly each time. It might be a few years, and when that day comes, as long as GuliKit is still making these, I'll buy yet another set of them.

Absolutely worth the upgrade
I installed the GuliKit Hall Effect joysticks on my Steam Deck, and I couldn’t be happier. These things are incredibly smooth and accurate, and the best part is, there is no drift at all. The original sticks were fine at first, but over time they started to wear down and get finicky. These feel like a serious upgrade. Installation was really easy. No soldering, no special tools. Just pop the old ones out, put the new ones in, and recalibrate. The Steam Deck recognized them right away, and I was back in the game in minutes. They feel more durable than the stock sticks and offer better precision, especially in games that require fine movement. I also like knowing that these won’t develop drift over time like traditional analog sticks. If you’re dealing with joystick issues or just want to future-proof your Deck, this is absolutely worth the upgrade. Five stars all the way.

Was sent used goods the first time.
When I first opened the package I was annoyed that I was sent someone’s old crusty original steam deck analog sticks. I requested a replacement. I was worried that the next ones will be the same but I was sent the correct item the second time. The install was easy and the sticks feel great.

Form function replacemant
Needed a type A joystick to replace broken original ones. Easy install work just as good as original ones. Only bought since I Fix it was out of stock, their guide works for this install. I have about 300 hundred hours of binding of isacc on these woth no issues. Thumb grip has a good texture, very responsive. I did not run the calibration and have had no issues so far. These retain the touch screen capability.

Works well and it is cheaper than original parts.

They don't look or feel like hall effect joysticks. The wires are too long so they are in the way of the joystick rotation and there is a creaking sound when pressed before the joystick button clicks.

Pile of garbage. Right stick stopped working in half an hour. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
