Fantastic Book
Fish Tales deserves five stars for all the documented companies brave enough to say, "We are sick and tired of being sick and tired, something needs to change!" Fish Tales is a great morale booster!Liked the stories of the different companies and their experiences with the Fish! philosophy and how they took it one step further to implement a strategy that works in their own organization.I highly recommend this book, but first, you must read FISH!

GREAT books!
My wife introduced me to the fish books and they are all great at improving work morale and the desire to be at work. I highly recommend them to all managers, supervisors and heads of companies. All of the books are really good and short so they don't take forever to read.

Keep the Spirit Fishy!
Keep your experience of the Fish Philosophy fresh! This is a great companion to the original book. When you talk to folks about Playing and some of the other important parts of bringing a workplace alive, they often counter with, "What about the kind of job where you can't play. Like a hospital?" This little volume recounts tales of just such venues. Some stories are bite sized morsels, some are more substantial. They all provide nourishment!

Simple, but fun, and may work for your biz...
This actually was interesting and useful, if a tad simplistic. I think we've all had enough of the aphorisms and positive statements, and want to be real in our examples and applications.

Inspirational
This book is another way to look at managing and managing styles. This book is truly inspirational and can have a huge impact on how one approaches their job, regardless to where they are on the corporate ladder.

Easy and effective lessons (but how usable?)
The series of Fish books is clearly a well marketed concept (this being the first of the ongoing series I have read)with an accessible writing style and layout of contents so you can dip back in easily. The idea seems almost too easy to be effective based on 4 key actions "Play; Make their day; Be there and Choose your attitude" and in this book applied to four different case studies for each of the actions and at the end of each section, little other snippet examples.I think many would find a lot of what is said pretty obvious, but it is implementation that is the key and starting with the Seattle Fish Market where the 4 concepts were discovered and working thorugh the four very different case studies and the end section on how to do a 12 week change project in your organisation, over 171 pages certinaly gives plenty of ideas. My only concerns are firstly I found the book very American in approach(not only in examples of giving "fish awards" but attitudes) and a recent business trip to USA while reading the final pages of the book re-enforced that view. Secondly, the examples are about motivating a work force into teaming (often in jobs that by the mundane nature of their tasks have created the problems) so it was not clear it would be so effective for higher levels of office management problems where "office politics" may be more an issue in getting the tone right at the top. While an interesting read in reminding one of key basic concepts I suspect I have learned more practically from say Jonathan Goleman's book on Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace in helping me team better at work.

Good tales
A bit long winded, if you like a story but very apt to managing a team worth a read
