Very sturdy!
This adjustable calf stretcher is incredibly sturdy!! It’s made of metal-not plastic! It’s heavy!I like that it is adjustable. Very nice for different stretching needs!I dislike that I can only stretch one foot/calf at a time. I wish it was a double set.I both like and dislike how heavy it is. One the plus side, it doesn’t move around. On the minus side, it’s hard to move around.Admittedly, I don’t use this one as much as I use my lighter weight, plastic set. This one is great, but I just am not as comfortable with the single step and the difficulty moving it and setting the desired angle. Admittedly the fact that I am a small woman with long nails might have something to do with that. And the fact that my left bicep is screwed up (currently scheduled for surgery) so I can’t use my left arm as well as normal and am forced to mostly only use my right arm when moving and adjusting this one.If I was in better shape and had two working arms and wasn’t afraid of breaking my nails-I might like this one better.Overall, I think my dislikes with this are on me, not the stretcher!!

Heavy, But Works Great for Stretching!
I have noticed a huge difference with regular use of this calf stretcher. My calves are less sore, I do not get shin splints as often and it is even helping loosen up my hamstrings! I leave the calf stretcher set up in the living room so that I remember to do a few minutes of stretching every day after I get home from my walk. The calf stretcher is adjustable and can help me target specific muscles or to get a little bit of extra stretching in after a long, stressful day. This calf stretcher is a lot heavier than I thought it would be. It is made of very sturdy metal and does not move or slide on the floor no matter what position I am in, which is great. Unfortunately, the calf stretcher is a little tough to move around and can damage or scuff your floor if you are not careful while moving it. I have it setup in a location where I can leave it and, while it has flattened the carpet there, it is not causing any issues. This calf stretcher board is perfect for heavy duty use and would be great for a personal gym or if multiple people will be using it throughout the day.

Easy To Use But Heavy
When I remember, I stretch my hamstrings by leaning towards a wall. I forget more than I remember. When I saw this product, it look sturdy and be a visual reminder to use it regularly.Upon arrival, I discovered that it is solid metal and weighs 15 pounds. Care must be taken to assemble so that it is not dropped on any surface as it will be damage along with any body parts that may be in the way. Once it is set on the floor, that should not be a problem.Within days, I can feel less tightness in the muscles in my shin. Using this device allows me use it without having to lean in to the wall, as the adjustable height takes care of angle needed to stretch the muscle.I am very happy with this product. I recommend it. I rate it with five stars.

Heavy duty, and just plain heavy
I received this product for free with the intention that I try it and provide a review. I am giving my honest opinion on this product. On the one hand, I feel like I could drop this thing from the top of a building and it would remain unscathed; it's definitely up for whatever normal job you're going to put it through. On the other hand, I feel like it could have been a little less heavy while still being good quality. Not something you're going to throw in your workout bag or take with you traveling, but excellent if you're just going to set it up in a home gym/ area and use it there.

Compact, heavy and durable single-foot slant board adjustable from 4-6" high
If you're looking for a heavy-duty, compact metal adjustable slant board for calf stretches, this is a good choice. It has five height-adjustment options from 4-6" at 1/2" increments, which works out to 15-30º at 5º intervals. That's sufficient to allow a gentle stretch, a fairly aggressive one, and ones in between. The stretching surface is 6.5" wide by 11.5" long, which should be sufficient to accommodate even large shoe sizes. I find the patterned metal surface sufficiently grippy to prevent slipping when stretching with shoes, particularly when I rest my heel on the floor. If that's not sufficient, you can stick on the included sandpaper-like tape.I use it only for single-leg calf raises, so the small width is an advantage since the space in my home gym is limited. If you want to do squats or other exercises that use both feet at once, you'd need a wider slant board or two of these. The board is well-made and should be durable even under heavy loads. The board weighs over 7 lbs. I usually like heavy exercise equipment but find this to be a bit excessively heavy, which I find makes carrying it from the storage area to center of the room a bit tedious. But to make carrying it easier, it does have a cut-out that you can insert your fingers in for carrying it.It has four non-slip rubber feet inserts to help prevent slipping and protect your floor (plus a spare one). The feet hold sufficiently well on short-pile carpet, which is kind of slippery, when you're pushing down on it while stretching, and extremely well on ceramic tile.Set-up is trivial and takes under a minute. You just insert the metal rod and screw the ball ends onto each end. You're meant to do this so that the rod goes through the holes on the sides rather than under the sides; I got it wrong the first time.

Surprisingly heavy-duty!!
As a typical ex-athlete who has racked up a huge laundry list of past injuries and physical abuses, the injury gremlin is always knocking at my door. Recently, it was the tendons and ligaments and muscles behind my knees, plus my achilles heel on one foot begging to be stretched prior to me going about my busy days. And it’s so easy to neglect that basic sort of a stretch that also benefits the entirety of your lower leg right down to your heel. This super heavy-duty steel stretcher slant board is the perfect asset to have as a daily part of your health and fitness regime. Such an excellent investment in your physical fitness. Once you’ve injured your heel, or that complicated interplay of sinews behind your knee, you would pay any amount of money to have your full range of motion back again, absent of pain. Using this heel and calf slant board stretcher daily, even or for only a few minutes a day, can make the difference between developing a chronic injury that you have to deal with for years ahead or even a lifetime, or not. It is so heavy-duty. It will literally last generations, and is something you can very likely pass down to your grandchildren, who would also appreciate it for what it delivers. It is that well-built. I have not yet advanced to the higher angles of slant, as I am perfectly comfortable with the introductory slant level that requires no set up. Right out of the box, you can use this product and use it to great benefit. The benefits are a mediate, and will stay with you throughout the day until you revisit the slant board whenever the urge hits you. A beautiful product that will stand up to the weight of even the heavier amongst us. A fitness essential, I highly recommend this product!!

Calf stretcher for the uneducated
I’ll be honest. I had never heard of such a piece of equipment before and was intrigued. I have tightness all over my body but especially in my lower extremities (feet, calves and thighs). I thought this product could help me work on loosening all that tightness.I was confused initially because the equipment does not come with any instructions for use. I had to use the internet to look up information on calf stretcher slant boards in order to figure out how to properly use it.When I read the card that was in the packaging, it lead me to believe that parts were missing. The instructions included seems to be for two wedges. The parts information also seems to be for two wedges as they indicate 4 balls and two bars. There were 3 balls, 1 bar, 1 wedge, 1 rubber foot, an adhesive height level chart, an instruction/parts card and a large piece of adhesive sandpaper in the box. Again, internet search to the rescue. This is no lightweight piece of equipment and I would not consider it to be portable as it is made of steel so it is quite heavy. You definitely don’t want to try to carry it around it your gym bag.The top part where you are to place your foot has a raised pattern to provide grip but you are supposed to apply the included sandpaper over the textured pattern to provide even more grip. I have not done that yet and am not sure how well the sandpaper will adhere to the non-flat surface. The angle (degree of slant) is adjustable by moving the bar with ball ends into the different slots. I seem to have trouble adjusting the height of the shaft once the bar and balls are in position. I don’t know if I am just not good at it or if it locks in place once both balls are screwed on.It was actually while scanning the listing for information that I saw someone’s review about proper placement of the self-adhesive height level chart. The handle works like a window showing the different height levels through the slot. There isn’t any weight restriction or weight capacity information provided but due to its heavy duty steel construction, I will assume that it can accommodate a heavier body type and the pressure a body like that might put on it. It is certainly built to last a long time.I will begin to use it every day but will need to find an out-of-the-way spot where it can reside because I do not want to be bending down and lugging it around. If it works the way it is supposed to, I should be able to start at the lowest incline (angle) and gradually over time work my way higher to steeper inclines thus stretching my calves and experiencing less pain.

Usefull to stretch if you don't have equipment at home
I ordered this stretcher to use it after I do some rowing at home. First thing: it is heavy! It is made out of steel and it shows. The build is adequate, though I'm not sure the rod that keeps the stretcher at the right height will survive on the long run, we'll see.It does what it promises: you'll stretch like you've rarely stretched before. Actually, you should be careful while stretching as you can really hurt yourself if done improperly. That being said, it does what it promises: you can stretch in a number of ways and it feels good.I like that the stretcher can be adjusted based on your height. My partner and I have different heights, which means we can both use it without trouble. We just adjust it, and voilà.A great tool, that doesn't take much space, but that will help you feel better after a good workout.

Solid product with room for improvement
PRO's:• Solid, heavy duty construction• 6 height/angle setting from 4-6"/15-30°• Rubber foot pads grip well to prevent sliding.• The diamond texture may provide some small amount of additional grip over that of a smooth surface (footwear dependent)• (maybe?) Included a spare ball and a spare footpad. (I'm not certain this was intentional or a packing error)CON's:• After threading the first ball onto the metal shaft, the threads on the opposite side do not extend all the way through the other side. As a result, when you thread the other ball on, it pinches the wedge and will not allow for the shaft to be moved until you loosen the ball. (This is not a "lock" feature, but can be used as such. The shaft should sit in the divot at each position and the shaft should move freely for quick adjustments between positions)• The grip, which is a large sheet of sand paper, is not cut squarely. Minor inconvenience to have to cut it to size and properly squared corners.• Directions as to the positioning of the sticker on the back of the wedge is not included in the instructions and my not be intuitive for all customers.• Instructions are for a pair of wedges, but these same instructions are sent with this single wedge. (For cost saving I would guess)• The diamond texture noted as a pro prevents proper adhesion of the sandpaper grip to the wedge since it is no longer a flat surface.

Great for Any Home Gym!
The package was very heavy, and the product seems very sturdy which is good as my family are not small people! The step came together very easily and although it came with instructions, we never referred to them as it was really self-explanatory.The sturdy metal step comes with a pin at the side that allows you to set the degree of incline. This is great for stretching out the calves and lower back. It is an amazing addition to our home gym, it's one of those items that you do not know you need until you get one. The deep stretch it provides is so good for my poor circulation as well. The thing seems indestructible so I am sure we will make use of it for years to come even with heavy use!
