very happy with performance. actually picks up very slight levels of electricity, which is great but also concerning when you are working with it and here the audio alarm. great alternative to Klein product which is considerably higher price.

The LED flashlight is a great bonus, especially when working in low-light areas like panels, ceilings, or tight spaces. The buzzer alarm is loud and clear, providing immediate indication when voltage is present. I also appreciate how easy it is to distinguish between live and neutral wires.

I purchased this item to replace an identical tester I had for several years that had finally failed. This is such a great tool to have for safety if you plan on working with electrical items in your home. The last tester I had failed from the batteries leaking when stored and ruining the electronics inside. I dont plan to store my new unit with the batteries installed like my last tester for obvious reasons. This replacement tester is as equally effective as my last and I won't work on electrical projects without it. I've changed several ceiling fans, outlets, and light switches within my home. Sure its relstively easy to tell if a breaker is off by other means but don't you want to know for sure? A back up way to know your not going to get electrocuted? Not only can you plug this into the hot side of an outlet but you can just touch hot wires with the tip to see if there is power. You get an audible beep and an internal visual led that lights up the entire front casing red when a wire is hot. There is also a while led "flashlight" option which comes in handy when you kill the breaker and have no light in a particular area. It responds very quickly with no real delay when it touches power. I would say it is very sensitive and very accurate. The size is great, it can fit in your pocket or easily be stored in your electrical work box or case. But it's not so small that it's easy to misplace or lose. For the price it is a great piece of mind. I highly recommend this tester!

I assigned myself a DIY task, of replacing a light fixture. I had not ever done anything like this before, so I watched an instructional video. The video I watched recommended a tester; no specific brand nor specs. What I liked about this, is it's the size of a pen, had a light, and simply beeped and flashed when voltage was detected. After turning off the power, I used this to test to ensure no power in the wiring. It simply didn't beep, indicating there was no power. I successfully replaced the light fixture and I am alive to write this review.

Worked well for a few month (wich was really about a dozen different days, I'm no electrician) but then, no more. It's small flash light still works, tho. I supose that what is cheap is cheap. I confess that price was the main reason I chosed this brand. I'll try with something a little more expensive.

Simple tool that everyone needs if they're working with electricity. Saves that uncomfortable shocking feeling you get when you touch a live, exposed wire.

Funciona pero da falsos positivos y es muy general no sería capaz de seleccionar el cable energizado de entre varias opciones si los tienes todos en la mano. Por otro lado es bastante más economico que las versiones más precisas. Lo deje para cuando es solo comprobar si algo está energizado a groso modo para el trabajo fino sigo con el fluke
