This is a great product
I bought three of these to compress a lot of my motorcycle camping gear. They really work well. The only thing I don’t like is the buckles seem very cheap. They even tell you you can replace the buckles. If they know they break why do they not include a extra one before you need it. Other than that, I would definitely buy again.

It works well.
It ISN'T waterPROOF. Now with that out of the way, it IS really good as a roll down top dry bag that vents air as you cinch it down.Very heavy fabric and rapidly releases air at the bottom as you pull it down. I have a military grade OR dry bag that does a similar job but I think this one is probably better.I used it on a two ay Everglades trip. I didn't put my sleeping bag in it. But clothes went in. It was great and did the job in a wet environment.I recommend this for backpackers and folks who won't have their gear sloshing around in water for 12 hours per day. For kayaks and other things, I wouldn't put a down bag in it out of excessive caution. I would use Watershed brand bags for that (and I do). But I also use regular dry bags for all my gear that isn't life safety if it gets damp/wet. This is an excellent version of the type and I will be buying more. Don't cheap out!

It handled the Amazon
I got this for my dad to take on his trip to Peru. I wanted something waterPROOF not water-resistant like a lot of backpacks claim due to how heavy the rainfall is in the Amazon rainforest. This seemed like one of the better options for a couple of reasons compared to other drybags I've seen and it was within my budget.Key points.- Very light.- Bag material is thinner than I expected, but does not feel cheap or prone to tearing easily.- The coating is on the INSIDE unlike a lot of other drybags I've seen, which have it on the outside. This seems like it would help with durability, and in the use case I got it for, help make it less prone to being torn open by a branch or a rock.- The carrying handle in the first photo is conveniently placed, however I got a cheap duffle strap to go with it, which clipped on nicely and turned into a bag he could travel on the plane with.- It's a nice matte black with orange on the top and bottem, which is something my dad preferred over a lot of the bright yellow or red bags that are designed to be visible in water.Overall satisfied. He didn't have any issues with rain or dirt getting into the bag, there were no visible scrapes or tears when he got back from a week of trudging through the jungle.

Quality
It is a well made waterproof dry bag. Nothing cheap about it. I keep my complete four season Hennessey hammock Safari XXL set up complete with underquilt, protector, rainfly, and two down blankets and attach it to the outside of my backpack.

eVac Rocks!!!
I ordered a full lineup of Sea to Summit dry bags to see what would work best for my needs. This lineup included Ultra-Sil, lightweight, heavy duty, and big river bags with varying capabilities such as basic dry bags to eVac and compression bags. The sizes ranged from 8 Liters to 35 Liters, and the waterhead ranged from 2,000mm to 10,000mm.My conclusion was that ALL of the bags consisted of great quality. Before I get into the ***This Bag*** review section, here is an easy reference to help you match your needs to a bag. The middle of the road bags really met a great compromise on everything.Weight: If the weight of the bag, and the space the material of the bag takes up is your biggest concern, the Ultra-Sil bags are for you. In the sizes I ordered, it weighs as little as .135 ounces per liter (without eVac or compression). In comparison one of the heavy duty bags I ordered (with eVac and compression) came in at .98 ounces per liter. With the exception of that bag everything else was under .5 ounces per liter.Extreme Waterproofing: Any bag except the Ultra-Sil bag has a 10,000mm waterhead. The Ultra-Sil bag has a waterhead of 2,000mm.Durability/Ruggedness: The Big River and Heavy Duty bags were made from solid materials and it is apparent they will be able to handle more abuse than the other bags. These will probably be your picks for watersports. The bags step down in durability in accordance to their overall comparative weight.Material Space: The material space of the Ultra-Sil bag is almost nil. As you go up in durability and features, the material space will also go up. I don’t have an actual metric for this, but my pictures should be a good illustration of how some of the larger liter bags can actually take up less space than a smaller liter bag depending on the material used.Overall Space: eVac and compression technology. The eVac tech will allow you to push out dead air space, while the compression tech will continue to compress your puffy items. This is perfect for sleeping bags.Load Limit: The Heavy Duty and River bags can hold up to 220 pounds. This does not seem to vary with liter size, but is based on bag material alone. It is pretty incredible that the bags could handle that amount of weight. I’ll post a disclaimer that I did not test that out. In comparison one of the lightweight bags had a 33 pound limit.***This Bag***Black 8 LiterThe heavy duty label means this bag is more durable. The material is much thicker than the lighter models. It also means it is heavier. The 8 liter bag comes in at just under an ounce per liter. This bag can handle a load of 220 pounds. There is a larger care instruction tag on the inside of the bag where on some other models it is printed to the inside of the bag itself. It is meant to be cut off.The shape of the bag is more long and narrow as opposed to short and stocky. This aligns with the dimensions of the other bags offered by Sea to Summit. The eVac is absolutely awesome to push out all the air and conserve as much space as you can. Combining the compression straps with that makes this bag a winner. If you are a backpacker who cares more about longevity in a bag than you do about carrying a few more ounces, this is a good bag for you. The material also feels to be about the same as the big river bag so it will likely work pretty well for water sports as well. Just keep in mind the eVac bottom is a little different material to allow air to pass through. This bag did not come in with a v-shape bend at the top like some of the other bags.Great product!!!
