Better than BreatheRight, Works Over Nightly Skincare Too
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I'm an overweight woman in my late thirties and--well, I snore. I go to bed first at night, so I was keeping my husband awake. I didn't know for months--and I love him for trying to be so polite about it at first--but I was determined to find a solution that would work out a little quicker than a few months of getting back into the gym.BreatheRight strips! They were... challenging. Where I lack dedication for fitness, I'm an avid follower of a nightly skincare routine--and that means a lot of moisture on my face. Including my nose. Know what you can't do when you're using BreatheRight strips? Have any moisture on your nose. Those strips will slide right off, even the Extra Strength ones. And they left some pretty gross residue. I really hated them, even though they had some lavender ones that smelled nice.I was really skeptical about Intake, like most things I see first on Facebook ads. Amazon is a great safety net for returns though, so for $40 I bought it. Watched the little video in the QR code that explains how you pick the right size band for your nose, and how to attach the nasal strips to your face. I was a little bummed when the directions explained that you should make sure your nose is pretty dry--so I dutifully followed my BreatheRight routine of making my nose a desert of moisture before applying the strips and the band. And they worked! My husband said he didn't hear my snoring for the next few nights. But I was still back where I started. Sure, Intake got the job done like BreatheRight strips on a parched nose, but they're also more expensive despite less gross residue. BreatheRight strips are about $0.37 vs Intake's $1.05 per night. There wasn't really a point to spending almost 3x more over the residue since I shower right after taking them off anyway... unless I could wear them over my skincare. So I tried--after cleansing, toning, a serum, and a generous night cream, I put it all on.And the Intake strips and band stayed perfectly in place over my stupid oily nose. Instant joy.I had to ask my husband a few times over the next few nights if I snored--maybe Intake was less effective with the skincare under it? But no, no noise. And everything was firmly in place in the morning. Awesome.Intake is going to cost me $1.05 a night--or $31.50 per month. That might be a hefty price tag, but it's one I can afford. Amazon Prime Days are coming up, so fingers crossed for a sale. It's worth it for my husband's comfort--and mine.

Shockingly good!
This thing is amazing!! It's a more expensive option, but if you compare it to buying nasal strips for every night it will save money and work better in the long run. I was considering using an insertable nasal dilator, but they always seemed so uncomfortable and unhygienic. I wasn't sure what to expect from this since the regular disposable nose strips never were that great for me. The Intake turned out to be amazing!! It really gives you great air flow without having to put anything up your nose, and it's very comfortable! For sizing, I have an average nose for a woman. I usually use the size M1. It really depends on placement and it will take some trial and error to find the best placement for the stickers. If I place them closer to the bridge of my nose I can only get the S2 to fit, whereas if they are placed closer to my cheeks I can use the M2. Both placements open up my airways well, so if you apply the stickers unevenly it should still work just fine. I have read that people with particularly large noses might have trouble (the largest size they offer is not included in this kit, nor is the smallest size). I recommend playing with the placement a bit if you're having difficulty. It was super easy to use. I did have some trouble with the sticker lifting off my nose on one side at first. I was still able to keep wearing it the rest of the night since it didn't come off all the way and still added some lift to my nostril. To make sure it stays on all night clean your nose thoroughly. Make sure there's no oil, makeup, lotion, or dead skin and that your skin is dry. When you apply the sticker make sure there are no wrinkles or air bubbles. Once it is on, don't move it or take it off again because it won't stick as well the second time. With the increased airflow I noticed my sense of smell is much sharper when I'm wearing this! It also means that your nostrils can dry out a bit, so you might want to consider using a humidifier if you live in a very dry area. I haven't needed one so far but I have noticed occasional discomfort from the dryness.Since it comes with multiple sizes im going to give the larger size to my brother, I think he will like to use this! You can also use medical tape on the little metal bits in the stickers to help stick them down. The refills are expensive so I might see how using surgical tape works out when I run out. This is very comfortable. I can't feel it when I'm wearing it, and the magnet is powerful. No chance of it coming off at night! I can see it on top of my nose in the middle of my vision, but you get used to that. The only downside is that the stickers leave an unpleasant sticky residue in the morning. I believe the natural oil from skin breaks down the adhesive into a sticky goo, which is probably a good thing because the oil in skin would cause most adhesives to simply fall off instead. but it's still unpleasant. It's rather difficult to wash off too. Soap and cleansers don't dissolve it well, but I had some luck with makeup remover. Also diluted rubbing alcohol should work, but it's not very good for your skin.
