Heller79892 1:72-M4 Sherman D-Day, 87 mm x 46 mm x 37 mm

This is the second issue of a well designed, and accurate model of the M4 or Sherman I. The kit provides plenty of alternative parts for the modeler to build variations (i. e. 3 different transmission covers, two types of road wheels, etc). The tracks are the one piece rubber band type, which is suitable for most modelers. However, they require super glue or heat. In comparison to the new Airfix Sherman Vc Firefly, it has better details and provides options for open hatches. In comparison to Dragon, the parts fit better and modular, but only lack casting texture and weld beads (difficult to see in this scale anyway). Highly recommended from a small scale modeler who builds almost exclusively Sherman tanks.

All parts are there and instructions as well as decals. Very happy with this model. I bought 3 and they are "all there". Can build 3 different versions of the tank.

Model came with no instructions and broken parts. No Customer Service with Heller website.

Great kit,well detailed with no flash. Generous decals for 3 units. My kit came minus the instruction sheet so ill have to find a download. Does come with an excellent paint guide,shame the packer mistook this for the instructions. The Sherman comes with the D-Day ' breather' chimneys for the coastal landing. Optional of course. I think this is a modern tooling. Very good. May get the French 2nd Armoured Div version too featuring the units that stormed onto the 'Eagle Nest' stronghold. That will solve the instruction sheet problem too! First Heller tank,very impressed.

Firstly this model is NOT for beginners. This is a highly detailed kit with lots of small parts. This kit offers three different version of this tank. once chosen at times its not easy to see which part is for which version. Many small parts at times makes this a little frustrating, but if you hang in there you are rewarded with a highly detailed model which you can treasure.

I like the fact that this model has the deep wading gear for D-day but the plans are confusing at best.

It looks to be a great kit, but I’ve not started to build it yet.

Its a nice model with three choices to model, clear painting instructions, But no assembly instructions!!!. Pity
