I have a fascination with e-ink displays, and have more than I can really use at this point. I built a custom enclosure for my Pi 5 where I incorporated this to give me basic readings of various performance parameters. It gives a quick indication of case temperature and CPU utilization so I can tell if it's running a task without having to log in to see what's going on. Waveshare has been making some of my favorite components, and this e-ink display is no exception.

I'm a bit of a tech nerd, and I love tinkering with Raspberry Pi projects. This e-paper display has been a fun addition to my setup. It's pretty easy to set up, and the image quality is pretty good for an e-ink display. I've used it to display weather information, calendar events, and even some simple animations. The black and white color scheme is a bit limiting, but it's perfect for projects where battery life is a concern. It's not the most exciting gadget out there, but it's definitely a cool little tool for DIY projects.

You need to use the 1.55 fix operating system on your SD card. Keep the configuration toml set as a waveshare v3 and it works fantastic ! 👍

I'm sure these are great for something but I purchased to use on pwnagotchi projects but found out after arrival these are totally unsupported by pwnagotchi projects. After spending way too many days trying to get these to work they are now in the jump pile of electronics I will find a use for one day.These are V3 screens which are currently unsupported for pwnagotchi, you need V2 screens.

Description says comes with dev resources. But received screen and the cable connections. Nothing with specs, driver links. Or anything to help get it up and running.Got it working for my project in the end. But a little piece of paper with a link would have helped to even be able to test it.
