Lite up!
This is compact and easy to install. It labeled clearly on both input and output. It lite up 15 feet per transformer without any problem. Hopefully, this will last.

Great product but QA was lacking
One of the two transformers cans with a broken soldier joint on the A/C side. Was easy enough to disassemble and solder, but better QA would be good.

Flickering lights
Worked for about a month powering my under cabinet lights until I started to notice constant flickering. They are also very slow to respond and when I hit the switch that powers both transformers there is a very noticeable difference in the time each transformer takes to power on. You get what to pay for, as an electritian I’ve installed many low voltage lights and these seem to be the worst transformers I’ve used. Would recommend paying the extra money for WAC brand

If you've replaced your Halogen downlights with LEDs, and are now asking "Will this new transformer solve my flickering light problem?" the answer is simple: YES. Quick and easy to wire up, I had it all working inside half an hour and, three hours later, still no sign of any flicker. The Yunlights LED Driver provides 36 watts of constant 12 volt power. This is unlike older transformers where the power was rarely constant, which caused flickering with LEDs. The only question is how many transformers you need. A good rule of thumb is to add up the wattage of your bulbs, then add another 5-10 watts. So for example, I had six 8-watt LEDs - quite bright ones. 6x8=48 so clearly a single 36-watt power unit wasn't going to cut it. Thankfully there's a significant discount if you buy a pack of two. Split my six LEDs into two groups of three, 3x8=24 which gives me 11 watts spare on each unit, plenty of spare power. Now most people don't use bright 8-watt LED bulbs, they tend to use 4.5 or 5 watt bulbs. That means you could run six 5-watt LEDs from a single transformer (6x5=30 watts) and still have a good margin of 6 watts left over. I wouldn't try seven 5-watt bulbs though (35w), as that is a bit too close to the limit (36w). The downside? Well, you only get a single positive and negative terminal on the output, so if like me you're running multiple bulbs from each unit, you're going to need either a nice junction box, or, because I happened to have some lying around, some "chocolate bar" screw terminal block and insulating tape. Wiring the bulbs up in parallel was a must for me, as the whole point of the exercise was to avoid flicker. For the price, and especially the discounted two-pack, I'm more than happy to forgive them skimping on the terminals. Seems solid, well built, the screw terminals are good quality (proper press-down tongue, not just a bare screw), and everything dangerous is nicely sealed away. Good quality for the price, does the job well, and most importantly stops that damned flicker!
