A clear, succinct and very readable analysis of censorship
James LaRue's slim volume On Censorship: A Public Librarian Examines Cancel Culture in the US, clearly explains the factors contributing to the suppression of dissent in public libraries. LaRue, drawing from his extensive experience as a librarian and his keen interest in understanding the motives behind partisan groups imposing their agendas on public libraries, presents a clear and succinct analysis. The author opens with the statement, “I wish I didn’t have so much experience with censorship issues,” setting the stage for an insightful exploration of the driving forces behind the efforts to stifle diverse perspectives.

Great Insight
I have to admit that given the state of things in Florida and all the book bans, I have often wondered how librarians feel and how they are dealing with everything going on. And this book was the perfect way to get some insight on that very question. For anyone that works in any area affected by the book bans and challenges, or for all my readers that feel strongly on the subject and are getting involved in your communities to fight against bans, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading this one. It's a quick read at 106 pages and provides insight into the perspective of a respected long-time public librarian.

TRUTH-TELLING WIN
This book, while doing a rather deep dive into the specifics of the library, also does an excellent job of sharing ways we can help our children embrace truth rather than popular and alarming myth. It is a short, but timely and necessary read as censorship is being promoted in the USA.
