LOVE! Here’s some helpful info
This little coffee maker is exactly what I wanted. I’ve evaluated a few others, and each had at least one issue that was a dealbreaker for me. Here’s some info on this model to help you figure out if it’s right for you: Fully accessible water reservoir that can be viewed and periodically brush-cleaned thoroughly (this important feature can be hard to find in so-called “5-cup” coffee makers; #MoldyBiofilm) (Note: in the coffee-maker world, “5-cup“ really means about 24 ounces). A carafe that pours cleanly without drizzling or dripping — really Works fast (6 minutes for “3 cups”; 8.5 minutes for “5 cups” ) to make good coffee at the right temperature (165°F, according to my tests) If you fill the water to the “3-cup“ water line, you get ~ 16 ounces of coffee (to me, that’s perfect for one generous thermal mug of coffee) If you fill the water to the “5-cup“ (maximum) water line, you get ~ 24 ounces of coffee In my experience, for a moderately strong brew, the perfect proportion of ground coffee to water for this model is 5 tablespoons of ground beans (that’s one generously heaped standard coffee scoop) to 17 ounces of water (that’s the “3-cup” water fill line) (Note: I use Peet’s Medium Roast) Some things you might not like about this model, although they don’t bother me: Coffee flow does not stop if you remove the pot mid-brew. (The brew times I list above take into account that all water must’ have moved the system before you pour your cup.) This is a simple machine with no extra bells or whistles. No delayed brew, no timer, etc. Good luck with your search!

Received quickly and makes good coffee.
The first unit I received had a broken lid hinge. I suspect it was a transportation issue. It was very cold outside and plastic gets brittle. Also, it wasn't inside an outer box like most stuff from Amazon. I returned the unit for credit on a new one. The new one came promptly and WAS inside another box. It is in great shape and makes great coffee for a drip model. I like that the top lid locks in place. Also, the switch is a real switch and isn't the electronic type that turns off after on hour or so. After a week I judge this to be a champion basic coffee maker.

Decent Basic Coffee Maker
This coffee maker was purchased to replace a Mr. Coffee that was in use for about 10 years. It is very basic, and does make good coffee. I agree with other reviewers that the system to grab a cup while brewing does not work very well. The problem lies, I think, in the fact that the basket is not engineered to be held in place well enough when the spring is depressed. Even taking the glass carafe out when brewing is done will show this. Instead of the spring engagement stopping the flow of coffee, it causes the basket to rise. I tried making sure that the lid is securely latched, etc. and it did not make a difference. Otherwise, there does not appear to be any leakage. The coffee is not too hot, which is a plus for me. Setup was pretty easy, actually. I also wish that the water reservoir was removable, but this is an inexpensive unit. All in all, it is a pretty basic coffee maker and does the job in a very simple fashion.

Don’t let the size fool you!
I had to laugh when I took this 5-cup Black & Decker coffee maker out of the box. It’s much smaller than I expected—almost comical at first. It is bigger than what you’d find in a hotel room; I’ve just never bought one this size before. I normally buy a 12-cup coffee maker, so this was new to me. I poured in 16 ounces of water, and after brewing, the glass carafe showed about 3 cups, which for me is a little over one good-size mug of coffee. That’s actually perfect. I don’t use pre-ground coffee. I grind my own beans and use Peet’s coffee. I followed the directions and used the recommended paper filter for this size machine. I was pleasantly surprised—it made a very good cup of coffee. It dripped evenly and brewed properly. Being single, this size is perfect for me. It works well, makes good coffee, doesn’t take up much space, and the price was great. I’m very pleased with it.

Great Little Coffee Maker
No clock, no frills, no bells and whistles, no multiple settings/options. Just great coffee without the distractions. It’s also compact and won’t overwhelm your counter. Only had it a week, so can’t comment about durability, but being so simple, and seemingly well made, I’m guessing it will last a long while.

Worth the money
This works great and looks just like the picture. The best feature is it pours without spilling!! Previous pots spilled if you poured too fast. This pot has a "sharper" spout and it doesn't spill!

Works just like a coffee maker is supposed to work
This is a very basic coffee maker. It doesn't have a control panel or a computer. It doesn't think it's smarter than me and turn off when it thinks I've had enough or anything like that. It has an ON and OFF switch. I used a 24 hour timer that I bought online for $6.99 so it turns on when I decide and off when I decide. You can make up to 12 cups of coffee (which turns out to be 8 normal mugs) as weak or strong as you want and the only waste product is a bio-degradable paper filter that was made from recycled product in the first place. This is coffee like your fathers drank before then went to work building the skyscrapers and freeways and utility systems that are the foundation of our society - in Hollynut, Irish Wisk, Basil, Thyme and frillyBisk coffee in an environmentally destructive single serving cup before you shuffle back to the bedroom still in your PJs to continue your career as an "influencer."

Very Basic Coffeemaker
This is a very basic small coffee maker. No frills…just coffee. Easy to prepare, easy to clean, 8/10 coffee. Only 1 negative comment: it’s loud as it finishes making a pot of coffee. A loud slurping noise as it’s sucking up the last of the water from the reservoir…an annoying sound at 5:30AM. But I guess for $20, you shouldn’t expect barista quality.

Title says it all. I got tired of the taste of my Keurig Coffee and I wanted to return to a drip coffee. I live alone and have no use for a large 12-cup Coffee Maker, so the Black & Decker 5-Cup is ideal for me. The 5-Cup Coffee Maker is a great space-saving product as its compact size barely takes up room on my counter top and can be easily tucked away. I have had this for several months now and the coffee still comes out nice, hot and tasty. My only minor gripe is that when you try to switch it off, it shifts easily because it is so light once all the water/coffee is removed. Pretty much 9.5/10, I would recommend this product. UPDATE: It’s almost 2025 and this bad boy is still going strong!! If you have this in your wishlist/cart just get it! 😝

La cafetera es pequeña, para 5 tazas, pero muy cumplidora. Llevó 3 meses de uso y no me ha dado ningún problema, además es muy fácil de usar y te proporciona mucha calidad por un bajo precio.
