No instructions.
The keyboard works fine, but there’s no real instructions on how to use it for shortcuts in the ProTools application no instructions no legend I think they just figure you can figure it out. Like a legend or a instructional book would’ve been great.

Great time saver to help beginners with Pro Tools
As a complete novice/beginner in the PT world, having a keyboard with so many functions already mapped in place is a huge boost to efficiency and makes recording set up much easier. This keyboard won't make you magically better at ProTools, however if you take the time to figure out what you want to do, it can save time by reducing clicking around and pointless menu diving.

Could be great but there are a few hiccups
Pros:First of all, I appreciate the move to USB C by this company. Many keyboards still use old connections which is fine, but USB A is getting older. I only have 2 vs 6 USB C ports on my machine. The metal finish and the slim straight style is a huge plus for some people like myself, who do not like raised angled keys. The amount of back light and setting it is easy to understand and is appreciated that you can turn it off if you don't need it.The compact nature of the keyboard takes some time to get use to, but the keys are smaller than a normal keyboard. So that could be an issue, for some bigger hands.Travel is nice, and key quality is better than the average low cost 3rd party Mac keyboard.Cons:"Reset Waveform Height" shortcut does not work on the left side of the keyboard. In fact the Control+Opt+Command "the claw" shortcut on the left side of the keyboard does not work with any other key press. Pro Tools has a 1 key + 3 modifier set within its key commands. So that's 4 key presses total that will not work with the 3 left side modifier keys. The rightside of the board does however function normally with this command. But you will have to move your left hand to that side or take your hand off the mouse and chose a key on the left side for the 4th press. The next con, is the sleep key. It's right above backspace. You hit it and your screen will lock. ****There is a terminal command you can use to disable the key all together****Next up, the Fn key. There are two of them. One of them is where control should be on the left side of the keyboard. And unfortunately it is a very bad place to put it. The rightside Fn key is huge by comparison to the left side which is very odd. They should've just left one Fn key on the rightside and ommited the left one. Would create more space for the main modifier keys.Overall.... I had to return it. It was driving me crazy. I shouldn't have to reprogram my shortcuts with another program to use the intended keyboard shortcuts for Pro tools. Defeats the purpose of buying a keyboard altogether, and not even a specialty keyboard.Side Note:I spoke with the main sales rep, and manager of the company. This is a small business, and they confirmed the issue with the 3 modifier keys on the left side of the board not functioning as intended. Communication and dialogue and customer service is top notch. They care about their products, and want to make sure they get this rightThey have started a dialogue with their engineers and are starting quality checks to fix it.But if you already have this keyboard and they do send out an update to it, you will need a Windows computer to reflash the firmware.I wanted to like this keyboard, but I have clients to service with my job audio editing, and I couldn't wait any longer on a fix for the modifier keys, plus the function key on the left side was driving me mad.Just not the best out there unfortunately.
