Yes, it works with Alexa 2nd gen!
I can verify it works with Alexa 2nd gen. We've got Echo, Spot, and Dot. I can ask Alexa to turn any plug on or off. I can also control it via the Alexa app on my phone, or if you want to return to the Pleistocene, snatch up a bone and use it to manually poke the on/off button.Step 1: It was my first time adding any device for Alexa to control, and for using Smart Life. "Patience you must have." You need install the Alexa app as well as the Smart Life app. This is only required for setup of new or additional Smart Life devices. Once you complete all the steps you don't have to touch things any more.Step 2: Setup was initially quite aggravating. because Smart Life-Register wanted a "password". It just wants you to make up something(include a numeral). Write it down, it only asks once.Step 3: Plug the sockets into plugs. You will need to share your Wi-Fi password with the app. Now you're in the Matrix! You have to find the plugs in Smart Life first, ask it to share them with Alexa, then Alexa can find them.Step 4: Name your sockets. Ask Alexa to turn "named socket" on/off. Alexa is so powerful- to hear Her is to obey Her!Alexa did not make me write this. As far as I know, I am not a robot. Nobody paid me, gave me a discount , or even offered me a puppy to write this.

The set-up was extremely easy and both plugs connected to my WiFi network on the first try and have not lost connection yet. Once I got everything working properly from my iPhone, I enabled the Alexa skill and I can now control devices from my Echo and Echo Dot units using Alexa. The app is pretty user friendly. It takes a little bit of exploring to discover all the functionalities. I like that I can schedule my devices to turn on and off at a certain time of the day. These plugs should be plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip. In addition, if you are going to plug a power strip into it in order to control multiple devices, you should not overload it as they have a 10 amp limit (Amps = Watts/Volts). A few household lamps should be fine. An air conditioner, space heater - no!

works perfectly after some tweaking
I'LL start by saying I'm wright this review after 1 month of trying to solve a problem of losing connection to the network.and after 1 week of no problems, I think I've figgered it out. This is my second set of smart plugs & unlike my amazon branded plugs this wasn't easy to set up.the instruction says it blinks fast in setup mood but after more than 1/2 hour of failed setups I discoved, there are 2 types of fast blinking & only one is the peering mode & that is the slower of the 2 blinks.when I eventually got the set working, I decided to use them for fans in 2 different rooms & it worked fine with the app/Alexa/google home on my phone. the voice assistants were very straight forward to set up.at this point, I would have given it 5stars but then the "Offline" problem started.I would say "*** turn on the fan" and nothing would happen or I would get a reply that it is not responding.& when you look in the Smart life app it would say the plug is offline. unplugging it for 10sec did not help. you could still turn it on with the power button on the plug but no software options worked. and just as random, it would lose connection, just as random it would reconnect. after about 2 weeks of this. I contacted Amazon for help. After some troubleshooting, it was concluded that the units were defective. being out of the USA, it would have cost much more than the full refund to send it back so I kept them & got a partial refund.2 weeks ago I was telling a friend about the problem & he asked if I ever checked to see how many wireless routers in my proximity that are on the same channel as my router? because it could be an interference problem.my channel was set to auto & at the time only 2 other routers were on the same channel.channel 13 was free so I tried it and the plugs connected immediately. but when I checked my Amazon plugs they were flashing red and wasn't responding to commands. I tried resetting them & could not even see my router in the Alexa app. so I put the channel back on automatic & the router repaired in the Alexa app.I then tied a lower channel # and both plugs worked and for the past week have been working with no problems. so I suspect that different brand plugs don't support some of the router channels & by my router channel being set to Auto, some times it would go on a channel that wasn't supported by this plug, causing it to go offline and it would only come back online when the channel changed again. so I'm taking 1 star off because of the difficulty of setup & that fact that is a notification that you need to be on a 2.4ghz network but nothing was mentioned about router channels if you are having problems.

These plugs are great.
An excerpt of the conclusion from our published story:"These plugs are great. Not only are they affordable, but they offer a number of ways of controlling them thanks to support for Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT. Some others have mentioned troubles with instructions, but the instructions are just fine. They aren't perfect, but they tell you exactly what you need to know and the app ("Smart Life") that they refer you to right at the start, walks you through nicely in your setup. The fact that the Smart Life app isn't an in-home proprietary app is also a plus, as you can mix and match models and brands that also support the app without having to be restricted to a small group of solutions from a single company. This allows you a lot of flexibility in building out your smart home setup. The plugs are durable, including the button on the side, and they operate as expected via the app, the mentioned third party options or manually (button). It blended in nicely with some of the other options we had lying around that support the app, and groups with them all the same. In the end, this turned out to be a successful field test, resulting in a 9/10 from us."Ryan Sanders - Editor - Poc Network // Tech**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know.
