Good replacement for my existing handles
One of the original handles on my windows broke so I looked at a replacement. As the original ones were brass finished and over 18 years old the finish had discoloured in places, I decided to replace them on all my windows so ordered 20 (2 packs of 10). I ordered them on Tuesday afternoon and they were delivered today (Thursday).Fitting is very easy and I've replaced 12 already, it took just a few minutes to replace each one. They are neater than the brass originals and look smarter. As well as a key option they also come with a little plastic plug that goes into the keyhole if you don't need to use the key. The actual body is smaller than the original ones as the catch is built into the handle rather than the body but the centres of the screws are the same. I also reused the original screws as the new ones that came with the locks are about 5mm longer although they may have fitted without cutting them down. The square shaft was an appropriate length so I didn't need to alter that. The shaft does not appear to be removable from the handle. If you are replacing several handles I would recommend using an electric screwdriver as the screws may need quite a lot of rotations to unscrew/screw them. The only annoying thing was that I saw them on Tuesday morning for less than £19 but by the time I ordered them in the afternoon the price had increased to £20.95 and I've just noticed that they've gone up again today to £21.95. Still, they are much cheaper than the local DIY stores. They seem to be quite good quality and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Great product and price
Was unsure ordering these due to the price but they are better than expected. Strong reliable product and easy to cut down if needed. Ended up ordering another box. Highly recommend

Not quite "universal" needs some mods
Nice looking handles and they come complete with mounting hardware and keys. They come with 45mm long shafts which I need to cut down. easy enough, but you will need a study vice and a hacksaw. The other problem was the length of the locating studs. For one of my windows I needed to grind about 1mm off the studs so that the handle would tighten up against the window frame. Again, not difficult if you have the equipment or a vice and file. The mounting screws are 45mm long, but I could use the old ones in most cases. For one window I needed to grind 2mm off the original screws to make them the correct length. Other than that, for the price these are great value. And they are supplied as "Yale" so that has to be good.

Bargain. Saved me replacing windows...
Bargain! £1.99 each. Thought we were going to have to change the windows when our old locks started giving up, but this has given us a couple more years (for £20 rather than £10,000....!).The keys are all the same as the existing locks, and the handles take 10 minutes to fit. My spindles were short ones, so they needed cutting with a hacksaw, but that was easy enough.Ignore the advice that you can swap spindles to save cutting... you can get the spindle out (with some force), but I smashed the first handle to bits trying to get the old (short) spindle back in. Luckily I ordered 10, but only needed 9...Easier than changing a plug to get those window locks working again!

Good sized well made handles
After manys years of use, approx 30, the original handles on our windows one by one have gradually given up the ghost in one way or another. The diagram above gave me an idea of the fitting and sizing which seems to pretty common from what I have come across, so that solved any issues if they would fit or not. The bar and screws were longer than what the older handles had so a few minutes with the hacksaw and subsquently the rotary drill/cutter were required and the handles were ready to be fitted. To prevent any marking to the white coated surface, especially from metal shavings or even rubbing on the surface, I wrapped the handles in a small cloth which did the job fine at keeping things mark free.Inside each handle pack is two screws, a key and plastic covers for the screw holes and also a blanking cover for the key hole which is required for upper floor windows. In use the handles are smooth operating and without any kind of looseness to the handle or its movement. Job completed at a fraction of the cost it would have been if I bought from the big orange DIY store
