Works great! A must-have item for travel to locations where boiling water is advised.
I obtained this item for a trip to rural Guatemala, where I was advised not to drink the local water or only purified, bottled water. I used it in my very basic motel room all the time, to boil water for tea and instant coffee and just for drinking water after letting the water cool off. It worked great. I also used it with an extension cord, which didn't affect its function negatively at all. It boils water really quickly. It did develop a whitish scale inside after repeated boilings, I guess from hard water, I'm not sure. However, back home, after letting the inside soak in some distilled white vinegar, this scale was easily removed. The kettle is small enough to easily pack in your suitcase or if you're a traveling backpacker, this would be a good item to have to save on buying bottled water, as long as you have a source of electricity. On the bottom of the kettle, there's a voltage selector to change from 110V-120V to 220V-240V. I've only used it 120V mode. It comes in a small, black fabric drawstring bag with an adapter for international travel. Long after my trip, I have continued to use this small kettle at home on a daily basis to quickly boil water for a cup of tea or hot chocolate.

Not bad for the price
Please note that this review is being made after one week of use. I bought the hotpot for our Paris trip to make coffee in the hotel room. It was convenient not having to leave the room just to grab some coffee. The pot is small enough and it did not add much weight to the suitcase. After a week of use, I noticed a gray-ish discoloration on the bottom. But it still works. Only thing that did not work was the rectangular plug adapter. It did not fit. Luckily, I bought a separate plug adapter for France (type E). This is going with us on our next trip.

Great Travel Solution
We tried another brand travel pot to take with us to make safe coffee in the mornings at hotels. It burned up with the second or third use. This kettle is amazing, heats up quickly, is easy to care for and perfectly met our need. Can’t wait for the next trip. We highly recommend it. The dual voltage makes it usable all over the world.

Why travel without your favorite hot beverage?
This small kettle has been very useful during my long travels. It holds enough water to fill a standard sized coffee mug and packs away nicely in carry-on luggage. I choose this model because it was small enough and there was minimal contact between water and plastic components. The only contact with water is during pouring since the top lid is plastic but I usually open that up before pouring (be careful when opening due to hot steam). I haven't tried it overseas so I can't comment on the 220v-240v experience but one important note here is that the plug is a 3-prong one (not two). However, the box did include a handy universal plug that will be very useful for international travel. Also, Some of the other reviews have mentioned broken parts and I do recommend handling this kettle with care since it is lightweight and plastic components are fragile. For example, the on/off button is at the top of the handle, so you have to be gentle when pressing and make sure to pack in a way to avoid pressure to the on/off button area (mine broke due to this exact reason and I had to get a new unit). Overall, this unit has served my travel needs well and provides a great value for the price.

Pretty happy with this little kettle
Pretty happy with this little kettle. Perfect size for travel, and just large enough to cook ramen. This is a lower priced kettle so you get what you pay for here: Not insulated, so the outside gets hot. No temp control: It's either on or off. Can do soup in it but you have to watch it carefully. Seems well constructed, is easy to clean. Overall happy with it.Update: The plastic hinge piece broke off so now the lid cannot be attached to the unit. it still works though and it continues to work well. just be aware that if you need to lid to remain attached for pouring, you may wish to look elsewhere.

Off/on switch Faulty, not Reliable
I purchased a Electric Travel Kettle Dual Voltage in July 2018 for our trip to Northern Italy. It was perfect for travel; small, cleanable, and included a voltage converter for European outlets. It worked great but unfortunately I had it on 110 setting when I plugged it into the 220. It cooked that water like a rocket! When I got home I ordered another one and it worked fine for about a three to four weeks when the starter switch stopped working. I played with it a little and it started working. I decided to return it for a replacement but the replacement stopped working within two weeks for the same reasons, the start switch. This time I could not get it working for anything. Its too bad and I blame on China's poor quality control. Recently I purchase a replacement for my aging toaster. It was a 1947 vintage Toastmaster and I love it. All the reviews I did all had the same complaints regarding longevity. All toasters are made/assembled in China, even the high end ones from Germany and England. My new replacement water pot for the home is made in China. However, the 781 reviews were outstanding (92% 5star, 6% 4star and 1% for stars 1,2,3). It's a HadinEEon Electric Kettle and I love it, but its too early to render judgment. I'll do a review on it after a year from now.

Now I'll be comfortable to bring it with me during my future trips
I recently ordered this item and shipped prior to the date promised - I used free standard shipping. Stains at the bottom after initial usage and it turned out due to the water quality. It cleared up after boiling water with white vinegar as advised per seller after questioning the situation. It works well and water boiled in just few minutes. Now I'll be comfortable to bring it with me during my future trips. It is a perfect size in dimensions. Only negative is the power cable is attached and can not be removed - somewhat awkward with attached power cable. Manufacture may consider to change the design with detachable power cable. 5 stars stands!

Does not work with milk
Although it says we can boil milk, we should not. I used it once to boil milk and the bottom got heavily coated and it took 15 minutes to get the crust removed. Good for water based hot drinks like tea but not good for boiling milk. Good money wasted :-(
