Lithops - Flowering Stones

My First Lithops Book
I read this book entirely over coffee in3 mornings, you could read it all in one day easily. Its 80 pages in total.I hate to rate it 4 stars, because it was a good read. But as others have said, the pictures leave a lot to be desired. As a Beginner Lithops enthusiast/lover/grower, I not only want good photos....but NEED them. Some are indeed to dark and hard to even make out. * I think because this book is translated from "the original", the pictures are copies from the original... you know how copies of copies of copies turn out. (But for the price, in comparison to others...leave little room for complaint)If you are a beginner Lithops grower, looking for solid information, this book is great. It gives info on soil components and amounts, temperatures, and lighting, and amount of water while growing. It talks about fertilizing, which up to this point I haven't found any info on in the FB groups I'm in.I'm glad to have it, for future refence and reminder and guidance from a seasoned grower...versus a seasoned Facebooker. If you are a seasoned lithops grower, you will not find anything new in this book. There are no specific details of indvidual species or varieties.

One Green thumb down
A decent amount of information. Half the book was just references So that was a bummer. Pictures are in black and white so you can’t really get details of the plants or some you couldn’t even tell what the picture was of. I definitely wouldn’t have ordered this book if I was able to thumb through it in a book store.

Production Quality Poor
The text appears solid, but the production quality of the book itself is poor: the paper is just a bit better than newsprint - very yellow cast and on the thin side. Generic copy paper would be an improvement. I’m not complaining that the photos are B&W, but they were very muddy, more from poor printing than anything, I believe. I’d have happily paid more for a better quality book.

Needed advice to grow these wonderful guys
I love growing exotic cacti and succulents and needed advice with these guys. This is great to read on my laptop but it is more difficult on my kindle fire HD. I love the pictures of the different species, I especially needed to get pointers on raising from seed. Mr Schlosser knows his stuff and I'm glad this was available for a reasonable price

Very informative
Bought this book as I’d just got “in” to lithops, not read it all yet but it’s very informative, lithops I find are a bit complicated so will probably use it a lot for reference.

Good Data Bad Formatting
The data contained in this book is interesting and reasonably comprehensive, however the formatting of this e-book for use on a Kindle Fire HD is terrible. For instance the pages (portrait or landscape do not reflect the hard copy pages with large gaps in the text and photographs and diagrams all over the place.I would consider asking for a refund but I cannot be bothered with the hassle and as I stated above the content is acceptable.
