As Far as the Heart Can See: Stories to Illuminate the Soul

I also bought this book as a gift. As far as I know, it's Mark Nepo's only book of short stories, and his fiction has strengths and limitations similar to his poetry. There is a pervasive honesty and avoidance of easy answers. Yet the stories seem not so much aesthetic fictions as fables - or stories written mainly to present Nepo's ideas. These ideas are always worth reading. I myself prefer the non-fiction books for which Nepo is best known, but this book will appeal to fans of his overall work.

This book was given to me by a friend, an angel who has come into my life to help me discover my own truth as it continues to unfold and the various truths of others that often confound me. The stories are beautiful. The questions are profound. This is book I will give to many and recommend to all.

Mark Nepo is a genius with words. He strikes right at the heart of any issue and uses wonderful meditations, questions, and guidance through some very tough situations. This is an excellent book that covers many bases of life. It makes for wonderful dinner-table conversations. Try it, you'll love it! It is very thought provoking and written in wondeful prose that only Nepo can produce.

I would give this book to anyone who wants to get a better understanding of themselves ona spiritual level, to better sever humanity, and just be a better person.No dislikes with this book, Nepo is a great, no super thinker and expresses himself beautifully.I can not wait to read more of his books and insightful thoughts.
