Q: how do you unsnap it from the base plate?

The image should be rotated 90 degrees to the left, but there are two dimples on the left side of the unit and the base plate, when installed the unit slides down onto the knobs on the right side of the base plate, and the bottom, or left side in the orientation of the image pushes down and the dimples lock into each other to hold it in place.
