Great Visual Aid for Teaching Fractions
This visual aid makes learing (and teaching) fractions much easier. Students can see how different fractions compare to each other and even how they can be added together. It really simplifies the entire process.

Simple, Lightweight & Very Useful
Bought these math manipulatives for home use, and so far my kid and I really like them. They came in a plastic bag and we had to kind of break apart the smaller pieces when the package first arrived (the foam comes precut so that was easy enough). The size is perfect for us and large enough for little hands to manipulate easily. I also like that the pieces are magnetic. The magnets aren't super strong but stick just fine to our whiteboard without falling off. I wish the numbers printed on the yellow and pink pieces were more visible, especially the yellow where I can hardly see them at all. If you need something more durable for classroom use or little learners who are hard on their toys, maybe look for ones made of wood or plastic. But I actually like that these are made of foam because they're lightweight to carry around or toss in a bag when on the go. I saw some sellers asking 50% more for a similar product, so I think these are a good value for what you get.

Making fractions visual.
Fractions are so hard for little kids to comprehend. Splitting a pizza/circle or working with this are the best ways I have found to help them understand. What's great about this item is that the pieces are manipulable. The texture is pleasing. The pieces fit together and explain, visually, how ones can be broken down into various fraction combinations. This won't be the "aha" moment for kids, but by using this really great item, I can help them come closer to understanding.

Smaller than they look
I ordered these to help show the size of fractions that are not round. These will work really well in lessons on fractions. They are smaller than the pictures show with the teacher having them on a white board. They are magnetic and stick very well.I gave 4 stars because the pictures are misleading on the size. There are not any measurements listed so all I had to go by were the pictures. Overall, this is a good set for one student. As a teacher, I feel like I will need to order a bigger size so when I put it on the board while teaching, everyone will be able to see it. I may purchase multiples to make a class set for the students to use themselves.

Nice size for kids to use individually
These aren't going to be something you want to use in front of the classroom on a whiteboard, but they are the perfect size to hand to a child and let them explore fractions and the relationships between them. For a class these could work if you have something like a document camera to project them larger on a screen for students to view. Either way, these are going to be a great way for my kids to visualize fractions. I especially like that they are rectangles and not pizza slice shapes. I think this version of visualizing fractions works better for how little minds work. You just have to line them up instead of fitting them together. They are made from a foam type material that should hold up well as long as you don't have destructive kids using them unsupervised. There's magnets on the back and that opens up new opportunities to move around the house or classroom rather than just sitting at a desk.

perfect for teaching fractions
I homeschool. I've tried using Legos before but they just don't work as well as this visual. For the price, this is an absolutely excellent value! They're nothing fancy but I'd spend 2-3x the price making them myself. They're essentially a thicker fun foam printed with the fraction value and glued to thin magnetic pieces. They break apart easily and store on a fridge of white board well. It's the perfect visual for my 5th grader learning to add fractions. She just wants to say 2/3 + 1/5 = 3/5. She is a very visual child and this helps her understand why you have to find common denominators first. They also work awesome for my 2nd grader who is learning about fractions. It's helping him understand that bigger numbers doesn't mean bigger pieces of a whole. Great visual! I'd absolutely order again if I needed more.

Must have models for my 3rd grade class!
This review was written by my wife who is a professor in math and science methods for elementary school teachers. These fraction magnets match the hands-on manipulative fraction tiles that my students use while studying the size of fractions and fraction equivalence. These are perfect for modeling how to use the fraction tiles and for students to show their own work as well. They work particularly well for times when students are grouped on the carpet and when I’m working with small groups. They can work with the whole class spread out in the room because the students can see the colors but if they were larger it could be easier to see the actual fraction labeled on the tiles.
