Great for heat shrink
I had one at work that wore out. Making a motor bearing noise. It was tossed into the garbage so I took it home. Used it for another 15+ years. It finally died. As far as I am concerned,it is the best gun for heat shrinking electrical connectors and tube. The gun does not heat a wide area like the paint stripper style does. It heats fast and the air flow is gentile. Great tool at a good price. 54 years as a electrical tech.

Works great
I bought this to use for shrink tube. It does the job without overheating the tubing or any surrounding wires/lines.

Dependable.
I finally had to replace my original after 20yrs and the only reason is that the power cord became a bit frayed and I just don't have the time at work to replace it! Great unit for electronic work.

Excellent
This compact heat gun gets into places the larger models won't. Very useful in automotive electronics installation and repair. The steam of heat is narrowly focused allowing you to more accurately shrink tubing.

Good mini heat gun.
I have used the original model for many years. I bought this replacement because I lost the old one. The gun seems to function the same as the old one. The deflector hoods seem to be made of softer material so you have to be careful the tips do not fall off. Also the fit and finish of the tips are not as good as the original. May want to consider using a small hose clamp for good retention of the tips.

It does the job.
I bought it to replace one which was many years olde and lost during a move. It is ideal for shrinking heat shrinkable tubing and for that I highly recommend it. One of the fittings which came with it distributes the hot air around the tubing. It would not be good where a huge amount of heat is required, such as for thawing frozen pipes, but that is not what it is designed for.

Heat when and where you need it; only 250 Watt power draw
Too many times most shops use one of those heavy industrial heat guns for smaller subassemblies and their wiring, blasting heat into the pcbs and on sensitive components in an effort to heat shrink some tubing on a connector. Not with this. This channels just the right amount of heat where its supposed to go.And it doesn't use 1500 Watts of power to do it.I wanted to give this five stars, but it has the annoying habit of falling over a lot. Its design does not allow for a stable rest position on a table.Still, it can't be beat for today's miniature and micro electronic devices.
