Used with kids camping
The kids kept drinking out the river so I bought this and made it safer. We have an RV so we have plenty of water but it too needs to be filtered after sitting to long in the tanks. It was easy to use and I live that it's rechargeable electric instead of having to pump it with your hands.

Excellent product.
Well designed, very functional and sturdy. Electric pump is great. Better than gravity flow or hand pumping. I use it now off grid remote living, knowing my water from saved rain and snowmelt, is cleaned to .001 and tastes pure.Highly recommended for everyday potential disaster in a city also.!

clean water in a pinch
Works fantastic. I love how you can back wash the 2 filters. And also used as a life straw. Which i carry extras anyways. But an amazing product. You can also use a solar powered battery to get enough recharge to get you clean water. Thumbs up!!!!

Great Water Filter
So I finally had a chance to use the Fitinhot D5S Electric Portable Water Filter. The filter was very easy to set up in the field. Before heading to the field to test the filter, I did skim the owners manual. Speaking of owners manual, the Fitinhot does come with a decent owners manual that describes how to set up and use the filter.Once you have all of the hoses correctly connected simply drop the Sand Filter inlet into the water source. Next power on the filter and press the Pump button. If all is going well, you will see the water start blowing through the various hoses.I tested the Fitinhot D5S by filtering water directly our of a creek into a 16 ounce water bottle. As soon I pushed the Pump button the water started flowing through the filters. The 16 ounce water bottle was filled in about 2-minutes. What was in the bottle was crystal clear water with no floaties. The water tasted pure; just as good as bottled water. I drank the entire bottle and no il effects were encountered. There is really no way to tell if the filter did indeed filter out any bad stuff other than drinking water filtered and not encountering any digestive issues. I do not have a lab to test the filtered water. The Fitinhot actually has 6-filters: Sand Filter, Pre-filter ultrafiltration hollow fiber membrane, PP Cotton, KDF, Coconut shell activated carbon fiber, and Ultrafiltration hollow fiber membrane. Other filters I have only have a single filter or two filters. The documentation says the filter will filter out the following: heavy metals, bacteria, protozoan parasites and will remove the peculiar smell of water, and improve the taste. The filter is rated to filter nearly any water source including rainwater, river water, well water, lake water, stream water, and tap water. With 4-filters within the filter I believe this to be true.It is reported that the battery will last for 6-hours of pumping. It is said that the filter is able to filter 8000 liters of water or 2113.376 gallons of water. That's a lot of water. It will be interesting to see if the filters last this long. Of course, it will also depend on the quality of water being filtered. My intention it to filter only good sources of water. I will update my review if the filters clog in an unreasonable amount of use. This filter weighs a little more than the other filters I have since it has batteries. If I were to take it on a backpacking trip I would only carry the unit with all of the hoses. Would not use the included hard shell carrying case. Every ounce counts in a backpack. Now for my only concern with the Fitinhot D5S filter. Are replacement filters available for the unit? I went to the supplier web site. There was a picture of the D5S but no sign of it on the site. The D5S is nowhere to be found on the web site. So no ability to purchase replacement filters. I could see using a Sawer filter for the pre-stage filtering. But, what about replacing the filters inside of the pump unit. Just a concern. I did not dock any stars for this. Who knows, maybe replacement filters will become available.Overall a great filter. I look forward to using it on camping and backpacking trips. I will update my review if I encounter any bad issues with the D5S filter. All I know is that out of the box the Fitinhot D5S produces pure filtered water.

Full featured hiking filter kit, a little heavy but good tradeoffs - see what I did
As mentioned in the title, this filer has 6 different stages, each with finer and finer particle filtering all the way down to 0.01. It is attractive and packed in a hard-ish zippered case and includes a long hose, a collapsible bottle and instructions. The filter is extremely easy to use and is very likely all you need to have enough water for up to a week out in the woods, although maybe not the 15 days claimed on the product page.In addition to the various filtering stages, the reason it is heavier than most filters is that it provides a small electric pump so you don't have to pump manually, and a built-in camp light (small but useful) and can also be used as a battery bank to charge some of your electronics. It shows you the battery level with several small LEDs every time you turn it on, the small LEDs are white and are bright enough to light your way inside your tent for example, saving the battery for water filtration. For all this added functionality, I think it is worth the added weight. It comes in at a full-kit weight of around 20 ounces, certainly not viable for ultralight camping but quite attractive for car camping. To ameliorate this issue and make it more attractive to light backpackers, I would recommend what I have done in the 3rd photo. Remove everything from the kit and only carry the main body, filter and hose. The sand filter is not needed if you are taking water from a stream and are careful to hold the filter close to the surface. The hose is long and you way even wish to cut it down or use a piece of lighter plastic hose (this one is silicone and very flexible but heavier). The included folding bottle also gets left behind as I find smart water bottles much sturdier and easier to use. This brings the total weight down to only 12.5 ounces (see photo).Bear in mind that no purging syringe is needed as you can run the pump in reverse with clean water and flus it out this way. Also the filter can provide all the water needed by up to several people, so you can spread out the weight, maybe just have one other backpacker carry a spare filter - I recommend a Sawyer, it's a good filter and a good company. So you see, given its advantages and multiple features this is actually an attractive filter system if you want to go light but have all its functions available out in the field. Good kit, good price, no hand or gravity pumping, charges easily with a small solar panel.

Great for emergency use
I ordered this water filter to add to my emergency box. This one seemed to be what i was looking for. I cant give an in depth review because i have no way of testing how good this purifies water. I did however use this on my sink water and could immediately see a difference. The battery level also seems accurate. I think this is essential to have if you do not already have an emergency water filtration system. This one is portable and seems to be of good quality.

Compact and functional; a clever way to filter water from questionable sources
The media could not be loaded. We share a well with our neighbour. When they sold their house last year, they added bleach to the water without letting us know in advance. For about three weeks, it was practically undrinkable, and we were hardly the happiest of campers. When I saw this portable filter from Fitinhot, I wondered if it might be a means to purify our water if something similar happens again in the future.Build and material quality seem fine. It comes in its own carry case, with all attachments conveniently stowed inside. It’s lightweight and portable, making it perfect to take camping. The internal 2500 mAh battery charges via USB C, but can also be used as a power bank to top up your phone or other devices. The built-in flashlight isn’t terribly bright, but it’s good enough to see a few feet away and even has an SOS pattern for emergencies. The major problem I have here is the colour. It’s olive green, which is easy to lose track of outdoors. I’d prefer the casing were orange or yellow to improve visibility.Setup is fairly easy, and the illustrated manual is helpful (though many of the photos are a little too small). The hoses are soft and flexible, making attachment and use easier than expected. I wanted to give the filter a decent test, so I used some of the rainwater I collect to water our plants. It sits in a tub outside that's open to the air, so it gets pretty grimy (as you can see in the video).Performance was better than I anticipated. The unit has a normal mode and a “sewage” mode, which draws water at a slower rate to filter the maximum amount of particulates. I was pleased with the speed of both modes. Not only did they filter debris, algae, etc., but the resulting water had little discernible smell or taste at all. That impressed me. If the pump runs out of power, you even can use the filter directly as a straw.Next, I wanted to see if it could filter bleach from the water. To put it bluntly…no, it can’t. The water didn’t smell very bleach-like when it was finished, but I sure got a full blast of it in my mouth when I took a sip. At low concentrations it might be able to help, but I wouldn’t rely on it.It’s described as a 0.01 micron 6-stage filter, but that’s not a claim that can be tested outside a lab. The listing mentions filtering out bacteria and protozoa, but not viruses. At that pore size, many viruses would also be filtered. I’m not sure what to think, but the unit is FDA certified so the claim may be accurate.Since there’s no way to purchase a replacement filter, I plan to save it for special tasks. The manual recommends cleaning the filter after use via the “automatic backwashing function”, but there’s not really much “automatic” about it. It’s just a euphemistic way of saying you reverse the filter and run clean water back through it.I think $90 is a reasonable price for a unit like this. I’ve seen a number of similar devices going for $20-50 more, but it’s fair to point out that many of those may have higher grade filters. It’s not everything I hoped for, but I’ve been pretty impressed with this little device. It never hurts to shop around a little, but I’d certainly recommend this unit.My rating: 4.5 stars

Compact water filtration system for emergency use
I have been looking at products like this for some time to keep on hand for emergency situations. This unit seemed to tick all the boxes so I decided to give it a try. That said it is hard to completely review the effectiveness of the filtration since I do not have a testing lab at home to verify bacteria and pollutants that may be in the water, pre and post filtration. So, I can only comment on how it looks and smells. This kit comes with the main pump/filtration unit, a pre filter cartridge, an intake line fitted with a coarse filter, 2 additional lines to go to/from the main unit that are about 2.5 feet long each, a water bag, a USB to USBC charging cable and a case to keep it all in.Moving from the source water to the end lets take a look at each piece. The intake line has a small cylindrical stone filter on the end. It is much like the bubbler stones you see in aquariums. The primary function of this stone is as a coarse sediment filter, which it can do well given its relative porosity.Next is the pre-filter. Which appears to be the same layer construction as the filter in the main unit; PP (Poly Propylene) Cotton to act as sediment filter at 5um, Activated Carbon that absorbs contaminants at 10um, KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) which is a high-purity copper-zinc formulation that uses redox to remove chlorine, lead, mercury, iron, etc, and Post UF (Ultrafiltration) which is a semipermeable membrane that filters at 0.01um. The latter being visible from the end when opened. Where I am unclear is how this filter is fitted in the housing and if it is replaceable. Given the small filtration levels I would be surprised if it is removable or serviceable. The manual states to back wash the filter after a specific amount of use but it will not last forever like this. It is stated that the life of the filters is around 168L. After that they must be replaced. However, I have been unable to find any replacement filters at all for this system. The main unit has the controls on a small panel on the side with 4 buttons, 2 ports and an LED light. One button is for “Power” which of course turns the unit on/off. When you turn it on there are 4 small LEDs that indicate the battery level. The second “Light” button controls the LED light, which is handy of you are using this system at night. The other 2 buttons are for pump controls; high speed and low speed, each with its own small status LED above it. You select the speed based on the anticipated contamination level of the source water. Slower being more effective are reducing or eliminating contaminants. The 2 ports are there for power. The USBc port is for charging the pumps onboard 2500mAh battery. The USBa port is for connecting a device, like your phone, that maybe needs a charge. Essentially having the pump battery act as a power bank. The final piece is the water bag that is a hybrid pouch/water bottle. It is very light and compactable but does have a typical water bottle spout for drinking. The case needs little mention, but it is nice to have something to keep the kit together and contained. Fitting it all in is a little tight and things must be arranged just so or you cannot get the zipper shut. A little more wiggle room in the case would have been nice. It does keep the footprint to a minimum though.Everything in this system is made from plastic. This gives some reduction in weight while still offering reasonable durability. The system is very easy to assemble when connecting the hoses as well as when you need to remove them. When in operation the noise from the pump is not as loud as I was expecting and does a good job moving volume. Surprisingly the system works as intended, again based on visual results. I tested it on lake water at my cottage and the resulting water in the pouch actually looked and smelled really good. That said, without means to test the resulting water I refrained from tasting it. I will instead wait until such time that I have to do so. However, I expect the resulting water is just fine.Overall a neat little system that does what it says. Very handy for those that are outdoors frequently and need a method to extract water from nature or for those that want a back up system, just in case of an emergency.

Great filter if the claims are true
First thing's first: I have no way to verify the extent to which this filter removes sediment, bacteria, or other harmful particulates in the water that passes through it. So I will limit my comments on what I can observe. The filter is fairly light, which makes it easy to carry with you if you're on a longer trip. I can see this being very useful for long hikes and multiple day camping trips where it might no be possible or practical to carry multiple days worth of water. You can stop by a stream, use the filter, and have an essentially unlimited supply of clean and cold water. Again, this is assuming it filters out everything it claims to.The flow rate is very good. As the listing says it can do about 700ml/minute in the faster mode, and about 500ml/minute in the slower mode. The battery claims are pretty accurate from what I can tell. During my whole testing period I never had to recharge it, and I filled multiple water bottles. I would believe the listing that says the filter can do 168L of water in one charge. With the manual filters of this kind you're never sure if your passing the water through too quickly. Because this filter is automatic, you know the flow rate is right for the filter. While I lack the equipment and knowledge to understand how much particulate this is actually filtering, if we take the specs on the listing at face value this is a really good filter. For emergency water supply or even just in the case that you don't want to carry a bunch of water with you on your trip, I can see this being extremely useful and potentially lifesaving. I think the value is good here and I plan on continuing to use this for my outdoor adventures.

Life Saving Technology, Impressive Filtration Performance
[PROS] 👍✔Can filter any water, including sewage at a slower rate, I hope it will never come to that, just thinking about it is nauseating but if it's life or death, we have no choice :)✔Battery life is sufficient for up to 2 weeks of water consumption, if the battery runs low you can simply recharge the water filter on the go using a portable battery back with USB connectivity✔Multiple filtration (6) stages to maximize the cleanliness of water✔Tested local river water and the filtration system worked wonders, providing clean fresh water[CONS] 👎✘Where do we replace the filter? There's currently no seller store or any indication where to purchase it, I checked 'Fitinhot water filter' and other variations, I could not find anything, I would ask the seller to indicate where to find the filter[PRODUCT EXPERIENCE] ⭐⭐⭐⭐👉The Fitinhot D5S Electric Portable Water Filter is currently priced as $89.99 at the time of this review. This is a fantastic tool, even if you don't camp or go hiking in remote areas, for critical emergencies this is a great device to have around the house in your emergency kit. During testing, I was impressed at how quickly the filtration took place - I would have loved to give this a 5 star review, but where do we find replacement filters?
