Fabric Line Shallow Wide Elite Saddle (Black) (142mm)

I am a recreational cyclist riding a Diamondback Insight 2 (commuter/hybrid) with flat bars. The saddle that came with the bike was getting pretty uncomfortable as I started doing longer rides (20-30 miles). I was getting lower back pain, sit bone pain, and soft tissue discomfort. I purchased the Selle Respiro Moderate and the Fabric Scoop Radius. The Respiro was pretty good except for a little too much pressure on my sit bones, perhaps due to the softness. The Fabric Scoop was great on my sit bones but a little uncomfortable on the soft tissue. Ended up keeping the Scoop because the sit bone pain of the Respiro was worse than the soft tissue pain of the Scoop.Then I saw the Line which I was hoping would have the same sit bone comfort as the Scoop but with less soft tissue pressure due to the cutout. This is pretty much the case. It's slightly worse on my sit bones than the Scoop (probably because this is a little more flat than the Radius option only available on the Scoop), but the soft tissue pressure is noticeably better. Did a few 10-15 mile rides and a couple 25-30 mile rides and haven't had any issues. Not perfect, but I don't really want to try out a whole bunch of saddles trying to find a unicorn perfect saddle. It looks good, isn't super expensive, and I believe it will get better over time as I get used to it so I am overall happy with this upgrade.

I was nervous to order a saddle online, but COVID times dictated that is how it was to be. I did my best to follow Fabric's sizing guidelines myself and seat fits perfect. I had a leather topped saddle previously, so it took some getting used to the tackiness of this fabric, but I've come to like it now that I am used to it.

I heard great things about Fabric so I wanted to give their saddles a try. Construction of the saddle is top notch as they make it one piece. I found the saddle offers great support with a little amount of flex to absorb road vibrations. For me, the saddle could be a tad wider and they could extend the padding a little more over the sides as the sides initially can be a bit rough.

I have this same exact seat on my mountain bike and got one for my commuter, best seat ever!

This saddle is great for road cycling if you aren't in the drops a lot. I enjoy using it for longer rides where I am in a more upright position. It's very comfortable on rides over 100 miles.

This has been the best saddle so far and as a heavy guy I've tried over a dozen. I usually go with 155 width but this saddle doesn't come in that width, and I was pleasantly surprised when the 143mm has worked well so far. The only negative and the reason for taking off one star is that one of the seat rails is loose in the saddle base. You can feel it slide around when you flex the saddle. It hasn't affected performance so I'm sticking with it.
