Awesome sound at great price.
I like listening to songs that standout with cymbals, flutes, tempers and pianos. They sound great on these Focal AS165 3-way components. I ran for a few months with the passive crossovers and used a DSP to change the EQ. They sounded amazing but I wanted full control and went active to ditch the passive crossovers. My gawd they sound even better when fully active because you. A definitely tone down a lot of the brightness that is present in this set. More importantly I could raise the gain on the midrange to make my vocals standout and not be over brightened by the tweeters which are crazy efficient. Great set and I installed the midranges in pods because there’s not much room in my windshield dash and I didn’t want to drill holes I. The doors to fit them in. My front stage is set and tuned with DSP.
