The book is a good size, in full color, easy to follow along and geared entirely to those who make crazy quilts.The beginning of this book is full color photographs showing steps of the basic stitches, including photo's of variations of those stitches, and, sometimes, how to add seed beads to that stitch.There is a small section on ribbon stitches.The back of the book is full color photographs of stitch combinations, but without showing steps, it simply tells you what stitches are there and it's up to you to figure out how they go together. This is easy to do so don't worry. There are a lot of floral or flower combo's. Lot's of combinations that are "cute."At first I was in love with the book, but within a couple weeks of getting it, I caught myself scouring Pinterest for new stitches. I realized I was bored with this book. The stitches it offers are the most basic of stitches like buttonhole, stem, straight, fly, etc. and combinations of those stitches. Most of those combinations are "cute" and a lot are floral, neither of which is my style, so that was the first thing I had problems with.Then I got bored that there were no new stitches, no raised stitches, no advanced or complicated stitches in this book. If you want to add texture with a raised stitch, this book isn't for you. If you want an elegant or sophisticated look, you're probably not going to find it here. If you want to learn new stitches like Portuguese Border Stitch, Buttonhole Bar, Rope or Scottish, google them as you won't find them in this book.So I would say this book is for those who are beginner crazy quilters who want to learn basic stitches and combinations. I would say that if you've been embroidering for awhile, and you're bored with little flowers and want more, this is not the book for you.

This is an amazing book and just too much fun to page through.It's like a candy-store of stitches, beads, ribbons and such that go from the basics, to how to combine the different stitches for an even more elaborate work.I bought the book for a future project but I'm having a hard time waiting.Each time I look through it, I see another stitch, or series of stitches that I just can't wait to try!

As soon as I started looking through it, I just loved it. Every time I looked at it a million ideas come to mind. An easy to use book, designs are great, simple to use. I'd like to order the other book soon, since I use this one almost everyday

Beginner with experience; This helps me play with the basic stitches I know. Bought the kindle version so I can have it on my phone wherever I go. Plan to buy the book version so I can stick it in my backpack with scrappy collection of fabrics and stitch by the campfire this summer after hiking!!

Clear easy to fallow instructions, a beautiful book to just look through!

The instructions in the front of the book can be found everywhere. There are 72 beautifully photographed pictures of combination stitches in the book, however, all photos use combinations of green, pink and purple. While this may add a cohesive look, it becomes very visually boring after several pages.

It has a great deal of information.

This is a beautiful book that is full of inspiration.

It does what it says!!! Really informative stitch library, with different ways of presenting embroidery stitches. Neat little photos used.

And I am pretty crazy about crazy quilts. I am just starting out with the crazy thing, and although I know how to embroider basic stitches, I needed some help with combining different stitches with beads and sequins and all those things, and this book is great. It has the directions for the basic stitches, and who can remember how to do a Lazy Daisy/Bullion Knot Combination Stitch, so you only need to have this one book out, and there are PAGES of combination stitches in lots of joyful colours. There are also simple directions for making crazy quilt blocks or a complete quilt. This would be a great book to inspire someone who is interested in embroidery and who would enjoy the encouragement of seeing all the things you can do with some very basic stitches. Joyful!
