Slow 'N Sear® Travel Kettle Grill

This is the perfect travel grill, and includes some creature comforts that are missing from the Weber Smokey Joe. First off, it's slightly larger than the Smokey Joe (18" vs 14") but it's still easier to transport due to the lid bail that doubles as a lid lock. Some other upgrades that make this worth the price difference are the inclusion of a slow n sear insert for 2 zone cooking, the improved bottom vent with extended handle, Improved handle on the top vent temperature port, and smoke hole. I initially thought the smoke hole was a gimmick, but I've found it useful in low and slow cooking. You can close off the bottom vent and use the smoke hole for air intake on really low temp cooks. I really do think the SNS travel kettle is worth more than the double the price you'll pay versus a Smokey Joe.

Fairly simple to put together. Solid and stable base, and comes with the slow and sear insert which is fun to grill with. Built in table and metal storage shelf is a great addition. Durable wheels make it easy to reposition. Only complaint would probably be the lid seal, as smoke leaks from the edge a bit. Not a big deal for me because I am not using it for smoking meats, but maybe more important to others. Overall very satisfied and would purchase again in a heartbeat.

Really impressed with this BBQ, build quality is excellent and comes with many of the add ons you’d have bought for the Weber kettle like the stainless grill grate. The probe holes also help significantly with temperature control as the lid can sit flush with the BBQ. Really happy.

Absolutely LOVE this grill! Not only was the build process easy (partner and I build legos as a hobby so may have had a slight upper hand) but it looks amazing! We love the accuracy of the thermometer on the top dome as well as the airflow/grate adjustments. It’s very spacious while maintaining a sleek size making it easy to move. Speaking of moving, the handle is a nice thick plastic positioned far enough away from the heat that it stays cool for hassle free transportation. We love that this set comes with the folding grate AND slow n sear! We’ve been grilling/smoking every weekend and learning how to incorporate different flavors. Have received many compliments from neighbors wishing they could get a taste! I myself haven’t cleaned this beauty as my partner likes to do it. He says the cleaning is relatively easy, just a little time consuming. But that all depends on level of skill and how much grill is used.
