I love it! Its so elegant and has many points to choose to write from. Takes a little bit of figuring out with how much to dip and I haven't changed the tip yet but I did try a little bit and stopped for fear of breaking the 1 it came with but other than that...seems to be decent!

This is my first dip pen. Before this, I've only used calligraphy markers and my Pilot Parallel, which takes a cartridge. I am also the type of person who, if given a bottle of loose ink, is for sure going to make some sort of mess. So take this with those grains of alt in mind! First off, this is a beautiful set! If you're just looking for something pretty, you can't go wrong with this one. The pen itself is kind of heavy, and while weighted toward the bottom, also wants to roll towards the metal wing. Presumably just because it's heavier than the gears. But this makes it hard to hold at specific angles.It comes with a bunch of nibs, which is cool, but one that I tried was too wide to actually fit into the pen all the way. The smaller ones I tried worked, though. The ink seems fine, and it has a stopper in it under the lid for extra protection. And the stand for the pen matches it and works well.Actually writing with this pen... not the best experience. This might be because I've never used a dip pen before--I don't know. But I found it difficult to write with, and it tends to either release too much ink or not enough. Finer nibs were easier to use, but still not great. So, while I love having this sitting on my desk, looking cool, I don't see myself actually using it that much.

love the pen and the ink. I tried it with different inks I had and I absolutely love it.Brings the old school feel back into it all when using.

I think this is a wonderful gift set for the avid calligrapher. I myself, have never used one of these before and it is so pretty I am afraid I will ruin the feather. So I will gift this one and get a plain one to practice on.I like the pen holder, however, the pen is a bit top heavy so it can easily be tipped over.
