AviaStorm Men’s Running Shoes with Lightweight Breathable Mesh

This shoe is very comfortable at a fair price. Would buy again

I bought these Avia shoes mainly (I confess) for the look. This was the first time I have owned Avia shoes, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've been buying US size 12 in sneakers the last few years, and I wondered whether these Avia's would prove too narrow for my D width feet. Turned out they are wide enough. After breaking them in around the house on the first day, they have turned out to be one of my most comfortable shoes. The soles are flexible and overall the shoes are well-constructed. The price is good as well, and the colors are just what I was looking for.

Comfortable at the ball of the foot. Good arch support. Fits well. Lightweight. Looks good. Easy on and off. Excellent shock absorption. Needs more cushioning and support on the heel with a denser and higher heel counter. Not for prolonged standing at all in its current form because it is uncomfortable and painful at the heel when not in active stride. These shoes are designed for walking or running on pavement. I ordered the green and blue varieties. The blue are more comfortable than the green. Maybe that is a quality control issue. This shoe does break it and this does get better with time, but the collar also gets worse as you take it off and put it on over time. Specifically, the collar doesn't stay firm and it starts to rub against the back of the achillies tendon. If you plan to buy this shoe you should use a show horn to preserve the collar because the manufacturer didn't think to make it firmer to withstand repeated wear. Also the counter doesn't really hold onto your heal or makes your heel feel well socketed and held by the shoe.**Update Oct 2023: These shoes have gotten more comfortable with age and wear. The part above the counter isn't a great concern anymore because the shoe as a whole has stretched out and gives my foot a lot of room to move while not being too loose to wear securely. The best part about these shoes are the footbed and outsole. The footbed is silky soft and has held up reasonably well. The outsole is the most resilient and shock absorbing I have ever experienced from any brand. Avia should bring this model back with a firmer collar and counter so that the comfortable wear these sneakers give is also firmly supportive and stable in all situations.

For the money, you can’t beat it

My son has wide fit and it's very hard to find regular sized shoes for him in the local stores. We ordered another pair of shoes for him from Amazon but it wasn't comfortable to him. So I took a chance on this one. He likes it much better. Looks good, is comfy. It's summer vacation right now so he hasn't used it much. Once school starts, we'll see how it holds up. Previously, with all the school PE activities he's done, shoes barely last 6 months. Hoping the quality of this would be better. Will update in 6 months.UPDATE: 4 weeks into school and the white threads began coming out. Wasn't a big deal to me, the lace were good enough to keep it tight. 6 weeks into school and the bottom of the shoe is undone(2nd pic). Didn't expect this. And this is only from the usual school routine of playing during breaks and normal PE classes. He doesn't take any extra sports classes. For such expensive shoes, I had thought it'll last longer.

Great this shoes

Well I wanted to like these shoes so badly! I loved everything about them when they arrived! I had high hopes! They seemed so durable. Well 12 days everyone. They were worn for 12 days before COMPLETELY coming apart! They were for my 11 yr old son and he came back from school with duct tape all around them to keep them together! How embarrassing. I was promptly given a refund. Now I don't know if we recieved a "bad" pair or if something went wrong during production but they were prestine when they arrived. I hate giving bad reviews, I'll almost always just leave none rather than a bad one but in this situation I needed to. 12 DAYS!
