Not all pairs have defects!
This isn't going to be an in-depth review, but I wanted to leave my initial impressions here for anyone interested in these IEMs. First and foremost, the unit I received is completely solid, both sides free of any rattling. It's unfortunate that these seem plagued with build quality issues because the sound profile is exactly what I've been looking for with a price tag that's relatively easy to stomach.I had originally ordered these back when they were first available on Amazon and waited weeks for them to arrive, but there apparently was an issue with DHL that prevented them from ever being shipped out. I took it as a sign, like I dodged a bullet after reports of rattling started popping up. It wasn't until just a few days ago I saw the color I wanted available with Prime shipping, so I bit the bullet again.I've been using my beloved Ikko OH10 on an almost daily basis and was searching for a new IEM that would address its shortcomings. Namely, the uncomfortable heft and slight sharpness that would show up in the treble every now and then. I love the OH10 bass--just like everyone else--so I wasn't exactly looking for something different, just improved.Among the candidates I considered were the Xenns Up, the Yanyin x HBB Mahina, Yanyin Canon II, and a few others in $1k price brackets. I can't speak to how those sound or if any are better than the Hype 2 since I haven't heard them, but I can say that I believe the Hype 2 is the upgrade I wanted from my Ikko OH10. If you're in my shoes and willing to spend $300, I say go for it.They're obviously not the same IEM, however I think anyone who enjoys the OH10 would appreciate the Hype 2. I also ended up preferring the same Spinfit W1s that were on my OH10. The Hype 2 seems to match if not exceed the OH10 bass in certain areas, resolves slightly more detail, sounds comparatively warm/smooth, and definitely tames the treble. I haven't run into the same treble issues, either, though your sensitivity may vary. And they weigh barely anything: they don't feel like two stones sitting in my ears as with the OH10.I frankly haven't listened to them long enough to completely gather my thoughts on their sound profile or do proper A/B comparisons to get a better idea of soundstage/imaging. I mainly just wanted to write a review ASAP saying my pair was totally fine. I don't want to make excuses for Thieaudio and hope they sort out the construction problems because I think a lot of people would be pleased with this IEM.

Worth every penny
After reading the reviews of QC issues I was hesitant to buy a set but did anyway. I do not have any rattling in either side and both sound incredible.Coming from Thieaudio Legacy 2, Dunu Falcon Ultra, and Truthear Hexa IEMs I would say that the Thieaudio Hype 2 is easily my new favorite. I can't really compare these IEMs with price points as everything else is lower in price compared to the Hype 2, and the others are cheaper for a reason and fit their price points perfectly.

Top competitor at $300, but I got a defective pair. And apparently, so did many others...
Was very impressed by these IEMs after hearing how they sound. The sound signature across the board is excellent sounding. The mids are super clean and well separated, treble sounds exceptionally detailed, and the bass... the bass is just superb. The new Impact Squared design Thieaudio has implemented into the Monarch MK III is no joke. And for $700 less, you get the same dynamic driver implementation in the Hype 2. Soundwise, this IEM easily sets the standard at $300. Unfortunately, I very quickly realized that my pair was defective. By giving the right IEM a light tap, I can hear a slight pinging noise that doesn't show up when I tap the left IEM. The pinging noise didn't bother me that much, but then soon after I realized that I could physically feel something rattling around inside of it. I originally thought mine was just a one-off, but I've already seen various other Hype 2 owners with exactly the same problem. soooo, what gives Thieaudio?? Needless to say, I've returned it already, and I'm willing to give it another shot, but only after Thieaudio fixes this issue.Edit: Coming back to this in case it wasn't clear. My only gripe has been with Thieaudio, not Linsoul. Linsoul has been very accommodating, they made the return process feel very easy, and even gave me a discount for my next order.

QC issues
Both sets I tried rattled, and one of them was used instead of new. Sounds great but not worth the time.

Defect
The media could not be loaded. Really enjoyed to sound and cable the face plate was not as good as I'd hoped. But unfortunately my left iem had a loose part in it and rattled now I have to spend money to ship it back and wait 3 months to get it back. Really thought highly of thieaudio before but this is definitely tarnishing my view of them. Was even thinking about purchasing the monarch mk3 but after this I'll probably hold off and maybe decide not to.
