High quality Espressif ESP32 Devkit. Well worth it.
Excellent microcontrollers from Espressif. High quality build, and their web site has all the documentation for their specific versions, plus there’s a lot of people using them with good information and tips. My solar powered data logger is running great, and the WiFi has remarkably good range even without the external antenna. For me it’s worth a couple of extra bucks for a solid, high quality Espressif board.

genuine, excellent quality, great box, great compatibility, no reboot button dance
I have quite a few ESP32s at this point. This is the one I consider the "reference". The best packaging for an ESP32 I've seen. It works with zero fuss. No "reboot button" dance when I flash it, which is worth the price right out of the box. There may be newer ones with more features, but this is the definitive ESP32, imho.

Perfect for projects
I'm currently using this for a DIY smart thermostat project. This unit is complete overkill for it currently but it allows me the headroom to add tons of features in the future. It works perfectly so far and I plan to buy many more in the future for additional projects that I can dream up.

This is the "standard"
This is the real deal. It is an Espresif dev board, the standard one. The reference design. There are smaller ones, cheaper ones, and boards with LCD screens attached but this is the normal standard dev board

Great Product for IoT Projects
I've used these in a project designed to monitor dehumidifiers. On board 7 of 10 thus far and I've had no problems really to date other than some I2C bus state problems where i had a SHT3x and OLED sharing. Board 7 of 10 is probably the most disappointing, the soldering of the header pins to the board seems like it was not checked. it is not great and I can't tell if it's the source of my bus problems now. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this board for price and performance. I really like the wifi capabilities and blend of functionality this board provides. I will eventually use it to control about 4 sensors and connect to and read the CAN bus signal from my dehumidifier. ChatGPT recommended it based on functionality and I've not been disappointed in that recommendation.
