It works well, but I had to find a Youtube video to be able to understand. No paperwork or instruction are included. You need to open the rollers by turning 1/2 turn backwards; then it will slide straight down over the edge. When complete, turn backwards 1/2 turn again to release. It does not cut traditionally - you are left with a top that lifts off and can be reused to seal.

Item came with a plastic bag around it in a plain white Amazon box with no instructions. It is about three times as difficult to turn the handle to remove the lid, compared with a standard manual can opener.The lid did come off cleanly with only a couple of slightly rough patches. I didn't notice any metal shards. If the opener turned with a lot more ease, I would recommend this item. If you have arthritis, do not buy it. My wrist hurts and I do not suffer from arthritis.

I bought this one year ago and within the past couple of months it has stopped working correctly, it won't cut the lids off consistently and I end up having to try several times and even then it's only open at a few points and I have to try to pry the lid open which is kind of dangerous and frustrating. In addition I don't really like how it cuts the entire lid off, it makes it more difficult to drain liquid from the can, like with normal openers where the opened lid can be pressed inside to drain, these can't since they still sit on top of the can. I'm looking for another regular manual opener now.

As one other review said, there is a learning curve. I find it a bit stiff turning but love how cleanly it opens. You can tell when you have gone all the way around the can when it feels looser and there is a burr pattern all the way around the lid. The can lid then peels open with no sharp edges anywhere which makes it especially nice because I wash out cans for recycling.

Does not open cans, after several tries. Heavy, hard to turn, compared with others I have used. Zy.... gets my vote.

While I do like the fact that there are no sharp edges on the lid after opening the can, I found that the can opener was pretty difficult to use. In fact, it was harder to use than my very old current hand can opener.A brand new opener should be smoother and easier to operate than my old one.

Worked really well at first then suddenly stopped working after using it only a handful of times! I really liked how slim the unit was so it didn’t take up much drawer space and it did work well (handle turned easily) until it stopped cutting through the can. I should have saved my old can opener as a backup because it suddenly stopped working leaving me without any! Not sure what happened to it.

This can opener is a bit difficult to use, but the real problem is that it basically shreds the can and leaves little shards of metal around the rim. I would not recommend this product if you have any concerns about metal bits getting into your food.
