Hilarious and educational
A friend gave me this book as a joke for my birthday since I volunteer with a heritage railway at Chinnor. As soon as I saw it I took it to show the head of our steam department and he was so impressed by it I gave it to him so had to buy myself another! A terrific book for all ages, simple to understand how a steam locomotive works with clear fun drawings.

Years of fun and learning.
It was just what I was looking for. It provides the accurate procedures and technical drawings of a Haynes manual in a simple form that will answer the questions of a 5 to 8 year old train fan at the same time it is a bright colorful not scary book about Thomas and the other machines(not just trains) of Sodor for a 3 or 4 year old. My only concern about this was how my nephew would react to his friend Thomas having parts and pieces and panels missing so that what goes on inside a train could be shown but he had no reaction to it, it was just another day and just another adventure for Thomas as far as he was concerned. The book it's self is good quality should stand up fairly well to a train maintenance shop but I have no guess on how well it will stand up to a three year old. But if it does stand up it will be something he can learn something from for the next 3 or 4 years which is what I was going for rather then something that he will out grow and get donated by next Christmas.
