D'Addario Accessories XLR8 String Lubricant/Cleaner

This actually works to increase glide on the strings & to protect them. Time will tell if I need to change stings less frequently. Easy to apply & compact portable design so it's easy to throw in a case.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: So often in the guitar world you here, read or watch something dubbed "game changer." I personally don't often write reviews but on this product I think it worthy. It has improved my string sound, my playing ability and my callous maintenance. My expectations were that it would kinda help but it really is a game changer for me. Thanks for a very fine product. Used on three guitars and play on average 3 hours a day. One can of this treatment lasted 2 months.

Everything’s fine overall. The only issue is that after just one use, by the second time the sponge already felt dry—as if it didn’t have enough lubricant anymore.

great for keeping strings clean

I own about 30 guitars and basses and I don't leave for a gig or rehearsal without this stuff! It works great, It keeps strings staying "like new" for a very long time. Preserves the feel and tone better than some other products that I've tried. Doesn't take up much room so you can toss it into most guitar cases or gig bags. I will purchase more of this.

This stuff is sooooo expensive and doesn't last long. It works great, but a bulk refill would be nice. And sooo much plastic; a jar in a jar that has to be chucked & replaced too often.

These are GREAT. Strings feel better and sound better!!! They actually sound better. I have a guitar with heavy 14-59 strings in it, you cannot buy them coasted only Phosper Bronze. I put this on them they played better and sounded much better that really surprised me!!!!

This stuff feels oily. I tried product support on Amazon and this product is not listed. I assume it is oily but it wasn’t that expensive so my loss. It does reduce friction but I keep my guitars clean and don’t oil all over.

Bought this as it seemed impossible to get my hands on a (normally priced) can of GHS Fast Fret, which I've been using for 20 years. This D'Addario sponge system works pretty well, but it dries out fast (even when always putting the cap back on and without a lot of usage). It's not Fast Fret, but you could do worse.

great string cleaner, does what it claims. I got a bass used bass and strings are not cheap for a 5 string, they seemed to be in good condition but lacked that new freshness. This cleaner in my opinion did the job I needed it to and saved me money so very happy. would buy again for sure.
