I won't have a chance to weld these up for a while, but they look like they should do the trick. They're not precisely the dimensions advertised, but I wouldn't expect them to be - and they're close enough to not affect their intended purpose (negligibly smaller diameter and about .07" longer with the bushing in place). Machining inside is a bit rough, but that's not where the majority of the load will be. Packaging left a lot to be desired, as the box couldn't hold them and most pieces also escaped the bag that was in the box - luckily, all the pieces were still in the Amazon bag.

These hinges have a brass washer spacer, the outside machining is good, the inside machining on the female end is rough on most all of them (like the bit was chipped, or wrong feed speed). Not a problem for the average user, but it could be on a door that gets used 100 times a day.The hinges are a good fit together not sloppy or too tight, the cavity is drilled deep enough that even with the brass washer removed the halves will go completely together.The ad says "pre greased" but they are just oily, they would need oil/grease cleaned off before welding anyway.I think they will be good for replacing the rusted out hinges on a connex shipping container.

I like barrel hinges - they're sturdy, stout, and quick to mount. When they fit the application i will almost always use them when other style hinges are also an option.These Sidco Supply 3” Weldable Barrel Hinges have a nice fit and finish and are reasonably priced. The included brass spacer provides a nice accent but can be used or discarded.I'm a bit islexdic so I like to tack & test these first to make sure I'm welding on the right side and have the configuration I want. We had been working on a DIY smoker for quite a while. Our family is big into BBQ so we set out to make a smoker large enough for the biggest of family gatherings. These hinges truly brought the project together. They are very well made and were extremely easy to fabricate to fit properly.

Awesome little hinges for projects around the homestead. Clean them up before you plan on welding them though. Welding is easy and performance of these hinges has so far been perfect! Good stuff and couldnt be happier! I've used my hinges to make a custom metal insulated mash tun for making home brew. These hinges tie the lid to the wall and make access a breeze. Nice smooth action
