A&W Singles To Go Powder Packets - Sugar Free, Non-Carbonated Root Beer Water Drink Mix (12 Boxes with 6 Packets Each - 72 Total Servings)

I've found there are two different manufacturers selling A&W Root Beer singles with slightly different packaging and ingredients, so I tried them both side by side for comparison. This variation, from Jel Sert, and another from Dyla Brands (the box says Juicy Mixes LLC). To me this variation tastes like what I might describe as A&W Root Beer flavored kool-aid, while the Dyla version tastes more like actual Root Beer without the fizz.. I like both of them, but this version tastes a little less authentic. This Jel Sert formula seems like it has been adjusted to not "need" the fizz, whereas the Dyla version appears to just leave it as is. That can be either good or bad depending on whether you like flat Root Beer or not. I also notice that they use slightly different sweeteners and colors, with this one containing food coloring, while the other version has caramel color like Root Beer does. I'm not sure how much of the taste difference that may account for.Anyway, bottom line, if you are good with actual flat root beer, you might like the other version better, but if you prefer Root Beer flavored non-carbonated sweets, you might like this one instead.

Good: I bought my first box with some trepidation, since it makes what amounts to flat root beer. As it turns out, however, flat root beer is pretty darn good. I might work up nerve one day to try a pack in a bottle of club soda, but at that point, why not just buy a six-pack of diet A&W? This is a good compromise when carbonated soda wears on one's digestion, which, sadly, happens to me more and more often of late.Bad: Kinda expensive, as most "water flavorings" are.Bottom line: If you love root beer but can't always handle the carbonation, this stuff is hard to beat. Five stars.

I have ordered these packets several times before. The white packets were tasty and dissolved well. This time I received the brown packets and THEY ARE TERRIBLE!! The powder does not dissolve properly, leaving a lot of residue in the bottom of the container. I need to figure out how to request a refund, these things are terrible. Very disappointing after enjoying these for the last couple of years.

I like this product. I am a root beer fan, though that wasn't my soda flavor of choice. I used to drink way too much soda and had to switch to water for my health. Was finding it really difficult to drink plain water and adding fresh fruit wasn't cutting it. I tried these and found they really taste like root beer flavored water. I started drinking this exclusively in my water, now I am tapering down and having some plain water and some "root beer" water. I eventually will get down to plain water. These kept me from giving up and going back to soda. If you're trying to break a soda habit and like root beer, these might work for you.

My favorite water shake but the price is why to high but I can't find this favor in the store anymore they only sell the new one like this in the store and it tastes nasty AF....

When we go out to eat, we always just order water with our meals. We use these little packets to add flavor to our water. The only thing to watch for is the wait staff might add a soft drink charge to your bill, because these make water look like a cola. Since we eat at the same restaurant all the time, they’ve soon learned about our drink packets (no complaints from the restaurant since they know we can’t have sugar or caffeine). They taste great for a portable drink.

I love my diet A&W soda, but I need to cut back on carbonated beverages and drink more water. Plain water can get boring after a while, so having the flavor additive is great. I don't drink any of the other diet brand sodas because of the diet aftertaste. Diet A&W soda is almost as good as the real thing, and this product passes my taste test!

I really like A&W root beer from the time I first tried at one of their fast food stands back in the sixties. These packets in each box are like having one of those ice cold root beers any time. They are easy to use, just tear one open and put it in a glass of cold water. You may need to use another packet or less water to get the taste the way you like it but at this price you can afford it.

I use this product with my Sodastream. It's a straight forward way to get a root beer syrup that almost tastes like it does in America.Mixed with the fizzy water the initial taste is almost as good as the canned version. However after a while there is a slightly bitter after taste not found with the pre-mixed versions.The product itself is good value for money but the postage tends to put me off, except for special occasions. Considering how light it is you'd have hoped it wouldn't cost so much, but postage from the US isn't cheap.

Tasted like extremely flat root beer left outside for a week. Disappointed because diet root beer is the biggest food I miss from the USA

I love root beer but sadly this wasn’t as nice and left a residue in the glass. Wouldn’t buy again.

in my opinion it doesn't taste as the original flavour at alldidn't like the flavouralthough less handy, I prefer them in cans

Tastes delicious when mixed with sparkling water or even with cola. For a special treat add a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
