These are well designed and built. They are solid, which blows away prior fasteners that were molded thin steel. Very precision in replication and perfect for attaching a table top to the base, and especially helpful in ensuring you can remove the top if ever needed for replacement, move, etc. It is also a few thousandths under 5/8"wide, so using a 5/8" forstner bit is perfect.My only complaint if you can call it that is I wish they had it in black rather than silver. Does not greatly matter since it should be hidden for the most part, but lets just say my attention to detail is looking for perfection, and black blends better for the darker projects I use these on. Regardless, this is so nice, I ignore the color aspect.People that complain about the holes being to close likely do not understand the product, or in recognition that the smaller size is critical to it remaining hidden from view, but also being larger would create incompatibility in many tables since most overlap the frame 1-2 inches or so. Regardless, all you have to do is use a drill/screwdriver with a longer shank, or just take care when you secure it. I have zero issues with a normal screwdriver, just mark the hole with a perm marker, remove top and drill a strait pilot hole, then angle the screwdriver when putting the screw in. The only thing this prevents is max torque, but the reality is you don't want to overtighten and strip, so this allows for perfect pressure.

Perfect for the project. A solid walnut stand for a Water Filter station for my son. These are thick steel, heavy duty, good finish, not junk at all. Easy to install and offer an easy on easy off workability

Solid hardware. I use these to attach table tops. Buy the correct depth screws for the job needed. Why would they supply screws when they have no idea what you are using them for? I would buy again and highly recommend.

Maybe a little pricey for what they are, but they function well and you need them with any solid wood table top fastening.

AS ADVERTISED

These figure 8 were not recessed for a screw head. I had to counter sink everyone in order to have them work properly. If you don’t have a drill press or drill that would enable you to countersink the opening for a screw head don’t buy these.

Purchased the figure 8 table top fasteners for my Rustic Coffee Table I’m building. The idea is to have some movement so that when the wood expands & contracts the top won’t crack. I used a 3/4 flat bottom drill bit to countersink the apron so that the connector would have clearance and some movement.The connectors are heavy duty and countersinked so that the screw heads are flush.Time will tell if the connectors eliminate a cracked table top but I have a good feeling they will.I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

I STARTED USING THESE YEARS AGO AND WOULDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT FASTENING ANY TYPE OF WOOD SLAB TO A FRAME USING ANY OTHER METHOD.THE TOPS ARE WELL SEATED TO THE CABINET OR FRAME YET CAN EXPAND AND CONTRACT AS TEMPERATURE AND MOISTURE IN THE AIR CHANGES. VIRTUALLY NO STRESS ON THE FRAME OR CABINET.DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER
