Collo 068 Solid Hotplate and Hob Polish orange

This polish works really well in restoring intense black colour on solid electric plate stoves. The applicator sponge lid makes it really easy to apply. Do be aware, though, that it does smudge onto sponges when you clean over or around it, but this is easy to wipe off with a clean cloth or paper towel. Overall, a good investment, as it has covered up my slightly rusty stove plates.

I bought this for my neighbour, and helped them use it. Firstly the pot is white not orange. Secondly the paste is black, which is what we hoped for, but we're concerned it might be orange from the description. The pot, inside the box is small, and once open you see this small pot is barely half full, so you only get a tiny amount. You only need a small amount per application... however the instructions say, and it was clear when cleaning, you need to do this every time you clean the job, so this tiny pot will barely last a few weeks, making it very expensive. You clean the job, dry it, smrear the paste( like old fashioned shoe polish from the tin) using the supplied little cloth, onto the job, polish the hob with it, and then open all the windows because you need to turn jobs on to burn the paste. Then you can use the jobs, but if you clean the jobs, even with a damp sponge it comes off, and to be fair it does say on the box to reapply every time you clean. I will now be going for the "stove black " instead, at least we know that works and stays on for a long time. If you rarely use your job, and just want it to look a bit blacker, this will do. If you use your job like a normal person, this is too much time, effort and money.

OK, easy to use - yes. Goes on like shoe polish. Just get the hotplate lukewarm and it goes on a treat. No need to add too much as in theory it'll build up a good few layers apparently assisting with the heat transmission of the plates. The enclosed blue cloth lasted for one plate before a hole appeared - after 4 hotplates, it was all but destroyed. Use an old microfibre cloth instead - one you don't mind getting irrevocably stained black. Burn it off when done to set it in place. It stinks. Open a window at the front and back of the house to get a good flow through of fresh air and keep them open for an hour or two after to clear the smell. The only drawback I found is that after spilling liquid on a plate and wiping it off, the polish also lifted completely off, so back to square one. I don't know if I used too much, too little or if it's actually meant to do this, but to my mind as it's used when restoring hotplates like this, it should stay on. On the plus side it's encouraged me to maintain a regular clean and polish regimen for my hotplates but I expected more from this product based on the reviews.

I Never Thought There Was a Product That Would Help, But it Restore The Plates To Like New, I Wouldn't Be Without it now, I've attached a video of how quick it is and the difference in the pic, you can see smoke as the plate needs to be a little heated before u put the stuff on

I don't know when it became so difficult to buy hob black in supermarkets any more as I've had a glass-top for ages. Anyway, moved into a new flat and lo, there was this little electric hob that needed a bit of tlc. No problem I thought, bit of a scrub and some hob black and it'll be good as new. I searched high. I looked low. I tried Asda, Aldi, Poundstretchers, all manner of departmental trading venues. It's like hob black never was. Eventually I gave it up and bought this stuff from Amazon. A little pricey maybe, but then again it only takes a wipe so the tub will literally last for years. Now my hobs are nice and black again, and that's all you can reasonably expect from a hob-blacking product such as this one.

Absolute rubbish, does not do what it says the black comes off all over the bottom of pans even after burning in. Does not fit the purpose for me. Followed instructions applied sparingly to warmed hobs,then turned up to burn it in. There was smoke everywhere had to open door. I would not recommend this product. No stars. It's basically black lead paste.

This product is brilliant and easy to use. Edit- A couple months now since buying and its still really great as long as you follow the instructions it works brilliantly. This was the first time buying something like this after I moved into a new flat with solid rings on the cook top.

Uso le piastre elettriche che in pochissimi mesi si sono sporcate ed arrugginite,proprio tutte da vedere! Le ungevo spesso con l'olio ma in poco tempo tutto tornava come prima! Questo prodotto una vera magia! Scatoletta piccola con una pasta nera che, con il panno in dotazione, mi ha reso le piastre nuove, in un attimo, splendide incredibili e, dopo 10 giorni, sono ancora perfette! Un prodotto tedesco MAI visto in vendita, felicissima di averlo, poi per puro caso, trovato sul super sito di Amazon! 5 SUPER stelle tutte meritate! Una vera soddisfazione.

richtig klasse dieser Reiniger gut es stinkt bzw. die Rauch entwicklung wenn man die farbe einbrennt aber stören tuts nicht Dunstabzug an und Fenster fertig !!!! ...die Hauptsache ist doch das es gut aussieht !!! und ja es funktioniert !!!! und das hats !!!!!!!sehr gerne wieder bei diesen Verkäufer !!!!

Macht alles wie beschrieben.

das putzen bzw. schwärzen der Herdplatten ist einfach. Aber die Rauchentwicklung beim einbrennen auf der Stufe 3 ist ja unglaublich, wenn da nicht rechtzeitig die Fenster und Türen geöffnet werden, steht mit Sicherheit die Feuerwehr im Haus!!!!!! Meiner Meinung nach geht das so nicht!!!!!

Zuerst Begeisterung. Aber dann kamen nach kurzer Zeit die alten Flecken wieder zum Vorschein. Es ist wie Schuhe putzen! Wenn die Platten frisch geputzt sind ist es ok. Man muss es aber sehr häufug anweden! Ich werde es nicht wieder kaufen!
