You get what you pay for and this is cheap
Stand feels cheap magnifying glass is practically useless hard to adjust anything on it but none the less it does work for the price I couldn’t find anything better.only thing I wish was they added rubber caps to the alligator clamp teeth for working on electronics when you don’t want the teeth to be biting on the board.overall works well for what I needed and for the value just would highly recommend looking for something better if you’re after a high quality stand that you will consistently use if it’s a one time or once in a while use case definitely worth it for 11$.

Good, not great but good
While this clamp is reasonably well made it was not as sturdy as I had hoped. I didn't return it because I have found it comes in handy for holding small items that need painting and the magnifier works great for detail work. Overall a good product for the money.

Exactly what I wanted from a helping hands
I would be hard pressed to find something worth complaining about here. It's cheap, the clamps work as expected, the magnify glass is useful for small soldering points. I recommend putting some extra pieces of heat shrink on the clamps so the metal teeth don't scrape your wires, but that's a thing I recommend for all alligator type clamps. This is my second, I only bought another one because I carelessly broke my first. If I hadn't tossed it into a drawer overpacked with other items, I seriously doubt this will ever break under normal usage.

Tiny and hard to keep stable for long
Don't get me wrong I like this. These are just observations. I thought it would be about double the size for one. It has a nice weight to it but still a little top heavy. The magnifying glass is hard to keep stable in different positions it will slide and gravity will pull it down around the Pole. If I tighten the screws I feel like I'm going to break them. The clips are handy for holding things in place, but you're item to hold has to be very light or it's going to topple over. Forget about applying any pressure to the item you are holding as well. If you're just doing a quick solder on a light board it's perfect but the alligator clips Might leave some marks. I will put rubber bands over the teeth. I definitely use it, and it is handy. I would not buy it again though.

Sturdy and useful
Seems sturdy enough and should do the jobs I plan for it.[3/16/18 I still haven't used it, but it's been sitting on my desk and I've inspected it several times and it is does look like it will do anything I need it for. I mostly solder small electronic circuits for my home automation projects and for the price, it's the best thing I've seen around.]

Pleased
Inexpensive, so it's nice for the price point. The wingnuts will obviously be replaced, though. I've used for both detail painting on small model parts and desoldering some capacitors and it functioned well, aside from difficulty securing the joints.

Cheap but not a bargain: you get what you pay for
I should have looked at this more closely before I ordered it. It is inexpensive, but it's no bargain if you actually want to use it for any precise work. The alligator clips are not the lockable screw-on type I was expecting. They are crimped onto knurled posts. They're crimped so hard the posts are deformed but the clips still aren't fastened securely. They wobble and move out of position enough to make careful work impossible. The bezel on the lens is so soft and thin it's practically foil. I was able to (just barely) cut threads into the posts to attach a proper clips but they're still short and because the posts have been deformed by the crimping process the threads are not at all uniform. Even with the clips upgraded, the way the joints tighten is very awkward -- you need to apply a great deal of torque to make the arms or lens stay in place. Overall, I would have been better served spending more money on a better product and spending less of my time upgrading a poor design.

For someone who solders electronics 1-2x/month & doesn't expect the World for $10...It will help.
Normally, anything I solder is usually done with the naked eye and the item more or less balanced on a flat surface; however, I recently ordered a Heltec ESP32 Wi-Fi/LoRa Board (approx. the size of a single delicious Club Cracker) that arrived with the pins unsoldered into place already....36 pins unsoldered.... I can do a run of 7 or 8 pins alright, but 18 pins on each side, sitting right next to an OLED screen and cable, I figured it best not to try my odds by just eye-balling it. Plus, the best way I figured to rig it up was to drop the pins in a breadboard and rest the LoRa board on top.....but, then I was afraid it would destroy the breadboard with the transfer of heat.....Anyway, long story short, I ordered this product, set it up right when I got it, and both problems (or my insecurities) disappeared. It works just fine holding the board and the magnification, while not incredible, is just enough to not have to be nervously shaking on tiny pin spacing, hoping not to destroy the whole thing rolling the dice with the naked eye. This is for small projects - it will likely tip over if you try suspending a whole motherboard with it. It has sufficient weight for soldering - which, as far as I've ever known how to do, should never require applying force or weight enough to destabilize the balance of a project properly set up to begin with...(?). It is made of metal, it does not have standard wing nuts though, but as someone else had suggested, making a stand with popsicle sticks would be comparatively a terrible idea. ....Those tend to be wood...and while I've never tested it myself; I've been told that wood and soldering irons, when used together, can lead to an increased likelihood of uncontrolled and potentially life-threatening fire. So, is this item perfect? No. Does it work within reason? Yeah, pretty much....the ease of adjusting the joints or a slide varies a fair amount, but it's pretty easy to know where adjusting will be more difficult than other points. Most importantly, ....& in my opinion, ....it's very inexpensive and if you purchase it and overestimated it's function, it's okay; because ....it's very inexpensive. There's no lost sleep taking a chance if you're already looking at it...and way less risk than popsicle sticks...(?) That's just ridiculous anyway.
