The original transom saver that came with my boat looked fairly strong and durable. Bit after only a few short months one of the padded jaws just snapped off. Of course the jaws are plastic, very thick plastic, but plastic nonetheless. I purchased this Attwood unit mainly because the jaws are metal with rubber inserts. A little reconfig of the bottom/boat side U and viola !! The heavy duty feel of this unit is second to none. Each jaw and connecting bolt is solid. You cannot go wrong with this purchase

It worked after a slight modification
Does not fit the metal on tracker but I modified it had to turn it sideways and drill a new hole works like a charm
