Dixit: Odyssey

This is another expansion to Dixit. Just like the base game and all the other expansions the cards are of good quality and blend into the main deck easily. Seems like Dixit you are paying a premium for the artwork as the expansions seemed to be high for basically just more cards, but I think people expect that. The artwork is of good quality just like the main deck. Like any artwork, people can have mix feelings and that is fine. The one thing I wished is if the labeled the cards with small text to let you know which expansion the card came from. As once you mix the decks together it is pretty much impossible to know which cards are from what. Especially if you mix multi expansions together. I know you can go online and print out a PDF of the cards in each expansion but that would be very tedious to sort.

We love dixit. I play with my kids ages 14, 11, 9, and 6. After a lot of gameplay with the original we wanted to get an expansion, but I wasn’t sure which one to get. I bought 3 different sets to compare (quest, odyssey, & memories) with the plan to keep our favorite. Here are my thoughts on the different expansion sets. *Note: All the cards have beautiful artwork and feel sturdy with the same backing design as the original cards. This means once you mix any expansion deck in with your original cards you won’t be able to tell the apart. FYI Now, Here is my opinion on the differences. QUEST: seemed to have quite a few cards that felt overly simple — not as detailed or “whimsical/quirky” as the original Dixit. Example: white birds on a blue background. Not birds turning into jellyfish or letters or clouds … just birds. That’s it. Of the 3 sets, this was my least favorite. MEMORIES: beautiful imagery but feels like a page out of a story. Images don’t feel as “random” (and therefore maybe less versatile?) as the original Dixit cards. Example: animals dressed up as the 3 musketeers… Not trapped in a snow globe or on top of an ice cream… just animal musketeers. This would be my second pick. ODYSSEY: of the 3 expansions this one felt the most similar to the original Dixit game cards. Good mix of random and quirky imagery to facilitate a variety of player ages and therefore clue options. Odyssey ended up being my final pick (my favorite). So depending on what you are looking for with your Dixit purchase hopefully these thoughts and photos are helpful. (*to the company: If the expansion cards were more reasonably priced I would keep them all!)

We love this family game. This is just an expansion pack for the original so you do need the game board and pieces. Dixit is easy to learn and the game board has the scoring rules printed on it so you don't have to consult the instructions. The expansion packs keep the game interesting over time. It's expensive but we definitely get our monies worth with regular play. We have swapped out the original box for a more compact travel option. This game comes on just about every trip whether it is a weekend at the lake or a weekend with the grandparents.

We have played Dixit with many different groups of people (of varying ages) and it is always a game people seem to enjoy. To keep the game from feeling repetitive however, expansion packs seem like a must. This particular expansion pack is full of colorful, interesting cards that blend right in with the original deck. We last played this game with five players, when combining this expansion pack with the original deck we were able to complete an entire game without using all the cards, this was nice. If you are looking to diversify your Dixit experience, I would definitely recommend this expansion pack.

A) This is a beautiful, high-quality addition to the original Dixit game. Do not buy this alone if you don't have the original Dixit game, because this expansion set comes without the game board, the tokens and the player pieces. The original Dixit game package comes with empty slots for expansions, so these Odyssey expansion cards can be comfortably stored alongside the cards in the original's box. B) The backside of these cards is identical to those of the original Dixit cards.

This is one of our favorite family games! So fun and you can even just take the cards on the go and play without the board. Our kids have loved it since they were 8 and 11. Fun with kids or just adults and the art is beautiful!

I bought this expansion, because we were running out of cards during gameplay with the original set. The cards are a little pricey, but the artwork and game make it all worth it. We always have fun playing Dixit and you can never go wrong with adding more variety to a game like this.

Dixit is such a great game! I bought this right away because I wanted to have more cards to go with the base game. This expansion features the art of the base game's artist so the cards have similar themes and a similar feel to the base game which is great and means you can mix them up. If you are looking to expand upon the base game or pick up an expansion in combination with the base game, go for this one!

Dixit is probably one of my kids' most favourite games! It's great for adults as well. Adults can enjoy the game by developing more complex definitions and stories to match the cards. Great party game. It's easy to play, it stimulates the imagination. This pack is the expansion only, but if you find the rules online you don't really need a game board. These cards can also be used to play other games such as Detective Club.

Cometí el error de comprar esta expansión junto al Dixit Odyssey, no lo hagan, son las mismas cartas, afortunadamente me di cuenta antes de abrirlo. De ahi en fuera excelente para tenerlo si tu Dixit es el original y no la version Odyssey.
