Inspirational baking book
Discovered this author completely by chance and am now completely captivated by him. I started reading the recipes and immediately felt compelled to have a go! His writing style is informal but informative and made me think I could be successful with his recipes. I also loved the photographs of both the bakes and the images of France. A delightful, delicious delicacy!

A Simply Delicious Book
This book had a lot of stories about how each recipe came about. It had tips at the end of each recipe. There were beautiful pictures to show how each recipe should look. This is truly a beautiful book.

New levels of baking
The title is accurate; these recipes do simplify pastry-making to a level that most good home bakers can handle. Some of it can be challenging; kouigh-amann is not something you undertake lightly. Still, this book would be a good way to move your baking t the next level, without the kind of financial or preparatory commitment required by a book like "On Baking" (which I also recommend, FWIW).Keep in mind that this is a British book and its measurements are in metric weights. Honestly, these recipes call for the kind of precision that wouldn't work any other way. Still, I know how some people feel about that, so be aware.

Go Edd!
Love his blog, so this book is unsurprisingly amazing to me. The photos are beautiful and 95% the recipes are ones that people would actually make.

If you can weigh your ingredients . . .
Great recipes, just as I wanted. I just wish it included conversion charts so it can be used with US measuring devices.

A dream of a book!
If a book can make you happy then this is it! The recipes are written so thoroughly they are fool proof. I am a skilled baker but patisserie was new to me, but Ed made everything seem simple and well within reach. The book itself is a pleasure to read and the photography is beautiful. This is an excellent book, with super recipes but the stand out thing is the level of detail given in the method. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Beautifully written and presented.

Love the book and recipe
Love the book and recipe. They are easy as advertise. I am just sad that he didn't include the flourless chocolate cake recipe. Just remember to buy a scale with the book if you don't already own one!!

'The Boy Who Bakes' has come of age!
'The Boy Who Bakes' has come of age with this book. The layout is straightforward, it's well illustrated and each recipe has an introduction which gives the book a personal touch rather than it being just a list of recipes. Some books written on the subject of patisserie can seem a little daunting but this has a clear, welcoming and relaxed style that makes you believe you can actually achieve what's on the page in front of you. We have all of Edd Kimber's books and everything we try tastes fantastic. This is a more grown up book which obviously reflects a young man who has honed his craft. I think it might be my favourite so far!

Probably better bought in paper format
Cant get the links to pages to work which is very frustrating, hence a star gone. Contents are excellent. Just wish I could print off from Kindle; makes it easier to cook from.

Gorgeous baking book
Having bought Edd's last book (which I loved) I couldn't wait for this one to arrive. I wasn't disappointed, it's such a beautiful book full of wonderful photography and his passion for French baking is very clear.Having looked at all the recipes I'm glad to see there's a nice range in the book including basics and more challenging recipes. I've already tried the Kouign Amann recipe (after seeing them on Great British Bake Off) and they turned out brilliantly. Can't wait to try out lots of other recipes.
