Anchors utility tub to wall
I needed a way to anchor my new utility tub to the wall, so it would not move if I bumped into it. I considered many ways of doing that. I saw this pair of gutter straps and decided to try them. They were larger than needed but I want to provide padding so the legs of the utility tub would not get scratched. I used some foam insulation and adhered it to the straps. The end result was exactly what I wanted. These straps are manufactured and not cut out of aluminum strips, so you are not dealing with sharp edges. They are an aluminum alloy and come with needed hardware to screw them to a drillable surface.

Bit too tight for our 2"x3" downspout
These were a wee bit too small for our older 2"x3" downspouts, but I managed to brute force the thing together. It's not pretty but is holding together for now. I do recommend doubly measuring your downspouts before ordering these. If these are a bit small for your 2"x3" downspouts, chances are your downspouts are a wee bit longer.

I'm afraid the thin metal will break off if I force it on.
It's too short, and I'm afraid the thin metal will break off if I force it on. After measuring it, it proved unsuitable for regular downpipes, but it has been returned. I borrowed the proper straps from a neighbor to show that there was nothing wrong with my plumbing.

Not right size for my gutters
I purchased it strictly according to the dimensions in the pictures and still couldn't use it fully.

Works Exactly Like They Should
I’ve got older style aluminum downspouts on my 1950s-era house. I have one downspout I tapped into for a rain barrel diverter, so I needed some straps to secure the downspout to the wall right at the diverter. I found these and thought I’d give them a try. I did measure my downspout and it’s actually 3.25 x 2.25- not sure if that still is considered 2x3 but I noticed these straps looked like they might have some extra room and figured I could bend them if need be. Anyway the straps worked perfectly- they fit like a glove and the grooves on the bracket matched up with the grooves in my gutter. The screws and wall anchors worked well to secure the brackets to the wall. I did have to use some small spacers, but that’s because my diverter pushes my gutter slightly away from my house wall. I’d highly recommend these straps if you have some older 2x3 aluminum gutters- they just work.
