I looked at dozens and read hundreds of reviews. I’m not really sure why it gets so many good reviews at this price point.When it arrived I opened it immediately and shook out really well. I fluffed up each pocket then I put it on the dryer on low for 30 minutes. I shook it out again really good then put it on my bed.I spend a lot of time in bed due to health issues and a bad back and hips. I have tried every combo of mattresses, toppers and pads. As soon as I got in it sank in the middle completely to where I was just on the bed with fabric in between. I could feel the seams on my back and it was really hot. I tried it for about an hour and a half and was in more pain and more uncomfortable that without it. It’s back in the box now and im super disappointed.I have a mattress cover not even a thick pad that I only paid $20 for that doesn’t even sink to the mattress like this one does.There must be better out there for the money or o just got a defective one that wasn’t filled enough

It’s a very nice, thick topper, but I washed it on warm and dried it on low, and the bottom part that tucks under and holds the topper in place MELTED in a number of areas. I had to cut it off and use this as only a topper that the fitted sheet is keeping in place. Plus the plush, thick topper is now lumpy after one wash. If you can babysit it better than I did when you wash it, it was wonderful out of the package.UPDATE: The company contacted me and refunded my money. I appreciate that and am adding a star to my previously 3-star rating. But do babysit it when you wash it: Wash in cold on gentle. Dry on low or air fluff. Check and redistribute it throughout.

To summarize - what I wanted - thick, soft, plush, like sleeping on a cloud. What I got was all that but lacking some refinement of a more luxurious (albeit several times more expensive) topper. Most thankfully at least this was not another overstated glorified mattress pad which are rife on Amazon.Hard to sort out many exaggerated claims on different brand topper reviews but after a lot of scrutiny I chose this one with a modest coupon. Arrived vacuum sealed. Instantly expanded to being impressively thick, easily 2-3 inches. So if thick is what you want, this has it in spades, but is the thickness used in the best way?The square pattern is woven tightly into dense engorged squares. This I presume is to keep material from moving and creating lumps. This makes sense but the squares are pronounced, almost bursting, and a uniform square design. The first night did feel slightly lumpy but has evened out now. However, the problem that remains is the symmetrical uniformity of the square design, instead of say diamonds, means you can sense the valleys of the pattern to a degree which occasionally causes me to shimmy over slightly depending on if I sense one of the crevices down my back. This may even out but -1 star mainly for this.The topper has made my foam mattress much more comfortable and has relieved the pressure points on my legs and shoulders which had caused me to toss occasionally before. I sleep better now. My shoulders don’t hurt sleeping on my side. It does feel close to a cloud, but in my opinion it lacks some of the loft and plushness of a more refined topper, which are albeit several times the cost. There’s a lot of material and value here.As alluded, the material is dense and it is microfiber fill so heat issues could crop up. Do not use microfiber sheets if you sleep hot. Also I would not use this as a ‘mattress pad’ as it is too permeable, but that may mitigate heat.

I am writing this review after only one night’s sleep… that’s how much I liked it. We recently bought a firm mattress because my husband needed it for his back. I thought I’d be okay with it, as I’ve never had back issues or trouble sleeping. Well, apparently it was too firm, because I’ve been struggling to sleep comfortably for a few months now. I really didn’t want to go through the hassle of trying to get a new mattress, or have to sleep separately, so I decided to give this topper a try first.It arrived yesterday. I washed and dried it right away, as it had a bit of a chemical smell. That also helped fluff it up after being vacuum sealed. I put it on our bed last night and slept comfortably for the first time in months! It’s like adding a marshmallow pillow top to your bed… delightfully soft and squishy! I am so happy (and rested), and I recommend this topper if you need some added softness to your bed.

If you are looking for a thick soft mattress pad this one is it. It actually is to soft for me. It is going to take getting used to.
