I found the videos posted by Iconoclast showing horses wearing this support boot quite compelling so I chose to buy it for my mare's injured tendon. She was quite lame but restless and kept limping around in her stall. When we put the boot on her, she was able to move without limping. We let her out in a small lot where she was able to graze, lie down and get up, as she continued to rehab. It has helped her and us take care of her. I will eventually try riding her again while she is wearing this boot as intended for its use.

I bought these for my horse that I am currently rehabbing with a front left suspensory tear. They are about the same price as the professionals choice boots but provide that extra support to the suspensory, which was very important for me. There is nothing else like it on the market currently (at least not that I found after extensive searching)! Size large fit my fine-boned 16 hand TB perfectly. Like any boot, it’s difficult to know just how much support it is offering, especially for a horse under rehab who is already a bit tender. But what I will say is that I am able to get a quality trot with my gelding under saddle and I worry less with them on. Like the other reviews stated, the Velcro is SUPER strong. The first week or so was hell on my hands. But after 3 months of daily use I’m glad they are strong because they hold up even when dirty! The only negative thing I have to say about these boots is that even when put on correctly, the Velcro on the underside of the first suspensory wrap doesn’t sit on the boot and can rub the back of your horse’s pattern. I am going to put tape or something on it to prevent further rubbing. Since the Velcro straps are so strong I don’t really see the need for that extra Velcro that’s there anyway.

I liked the concept of this product, as it claims to be the only boot on the market with true suspensory support. However, as other users have reported, the velcro makes these boots maddening to get on or off, and even once on, they seemed bulky and poorly fitting. My mare is relatively laid back but even her patience was tested as I struggled to get these on and properly adjusted, and then off again. But the real downside of these boots was heat containment within the boot. These boots are made of thick neoprene, like old school SMBs, and they trapped substantial heat against my horse's leg. After a 60 min trail ride on a chilly winter's day, my mare's legs were sweating and very warm to the touch beneath these boots. With so many more breathable boot options on the market, I wouldn't opt for these unless directed by a vet for rehab needs of a suspensory injury.

Iconoclast boots are great but when I received the boots from NRS they had horse hair in boots!
