C.KC.K Classic C.k 5610 Legend Heavy Duty Bypass Pruners

Had a worn out pair of these and although expensive thought a like for like replacement was the way to go. On the new pair however, the ‘safety catch’ was so loose that with the nose of the secateurs pointing down, it came on after every cut rendering them almost unusable. They were returned to Amazon for a refund without hassle.

I am a professional gardener and have used these pruners for at least 15 yrs now. My original pair are still going strong and I only bought a new pair as I forgot to pack the pruners when I travelled elsewhere and needed them.Incredibly hard wearing and cut through tough stems, don't fall apart (unlike some very well known brand!) and maintain their sharpness well. Way better pruners than anvil ones as the two blades cut brilliantly instead of bruising the stem as anvil ones often do. Only complaint is that when the spring eventually goes (and that takes a few years) its hard to find a replacement. I get mine from a supplier in Devon but its not an original CK spring and is not a 100% perfect fit.. The company should supply new springs along with the pruners. All in all though wouldn't be without them.

These are the best. I am a professional gardener. They hold their edge very well despite heavy use. It's false economy to buy cheap ones. I never use anything else.

Plus: sharp blade, clean cuts, comfortable handle. Minus: lock engages when you don't want it to an disengages when you slip them in your pocket. Worse, it now, just 5 months in, doesn't hold the pruner closed. Hopeless design. Also, the blade doesn't open wide enough to use the strongest part near the hinge. So - disappointed overall.

No trapped skin with this design

The locking mechanism kept engaging when I cut downwards. Grip comfortable and the blades cut satisfactorily. It may be the pair I was sent were faulty.
