cast iron!
I have had many fondue pots over the years…electric, flame under the pot and then this one! Any fondue pot that has a flame or electricity under it will fuse the cheese to the pot on the bottom. This cast iron fondue pot is perfect. It keeps the fondue hot without further cooking it. No need for a flame under it. Yes, it is pricy, but if you love cheese fondue this is the one! And here you go! French baguette cut into cubes1 garlic clove halved1 cup dry white wine1 teaspoon lemon juice8 oz grated Gruyère cheese8 oz grated Emmenthaler cheese2 teaspoons corn starchdash of white pepperRub the garlic all over the bottom of the sauce pan and all over the bottom of the fondue pot. Toss.Grate cheeses and combine. Add cornstarch and toss til coated. In a sauce pan, add wine and lemon and cook on medium until bubbly.Ad cheese and stir until melted and thick. (Don’t panic! This takes a while for it all to come together!)Add a dash of white pepper.Pour into a fondue pot. Serve with the French bread cubes…Note: I’ve done this recipes for 38 years, and my parents did it before me. I’ve had electric fondue pots, fondue pots with a butane flame under it,but the BEST is my small cast iron fondue pot…no heating needed. And the fondue stays hot and the cheese doesn’t cook to the bottom of the pot like it does with the electric and fuel ones!Enjoy!!! (It’s worth it!!!!!)

Not enameled!
This is open pore, unseasoned cast iron. It is not enameled as advertised. Beware, cleanup unless it is seasoned will be awful. Elsewise beautiful piece. Two stars because even the directions make no mention of how to season cast iron or need for it.

Returned
I returned it. The material quality is quite good, but I don't think it's entirely suitable for chocolate. if you intend to use it for a cheese only it is good.
