Worth the Higher Price! Great Graphics and Easy Connectivity.
I purchased this monitor after researching many different portable monitors and purchasing and testing another GeChic monitor, the 15 inch model. I decided to keep this one even though it was more expensive, it has better colors and the smaller screen size feels better for something I am going to throw in my backpack and take on the road. I wanted something the right size to feel portable and easy to connect with without drivers that can go out of date and requiring too many different cables. This model is definitely slimmer than many other models and I really like the screen. The colors look pretty crisp next to my MacBook Retina screen and the screen holds its clarity at many different viewing angles. It connects easily with just a plug and play and no need to download drivers. I also like how the single cable combines the hdmi and the powered usb connection so you can easily power it and connect it from your computer using one cord. Note that you do need either an hdmi port on your computer or an hdmi to whatever adapter as well as a nearby usb connection. There is a usb extender and plug base in case you need to power it through an outlet instead of your device. The mini hdmi connection on the monitor end does need to be pushed in tightly. I didn't realize this initially and at first had trouble connecting until I figured it out. The cable is about three feet in length. The monitor often autorecognizes and turns on when connected which is nice. The screen easily rotates from landscape to portrait, though you may need to control this through your computer. I like the protective case design better than some others. The case is really one sided, but it beefs up protection of the monitor and gives you an adjustable magnetized stand that can be used as a tabletop stand while you work. You can also rotate the monitor inside the stand to do portait or landscape mode and still have a base. Finally you can flip the case around if you want to protect the screen while in transit. This was designed so well that I don't think I will need to buy a hardcase for when I put it in my laptop bag. It also comes with two small removable magnetic clips to help secure the monitor in the case, though these are easily moved or bumped out of the way.I also combined this with an (Arkon Heavy Duty Tablet Wall Mount with 8 inch Arm and AMPS Drill Base for iPad Air iPad Pro iPad 4 3 2 Galaxy Note 10.1) which actually lets me mount the monitor on my desk when I am not using it portably, which is pretty neat. Overall I am satisfied so far and think it was worth the extra expense due to the quality screen and portability features. I will be sure to update this review if anything changes.

It was a very good extra monitor 2 years ago...
I still love it despite its design being outdated and HDMI port needs adapter...

Lasted 2 months of light usage
This monitor is lightweight, easy to travel with or move around and the picture quality is great. However, it failed after 2 months of light usage. It developed a straight yellow line on the left side of the screen. I kept using it until it failed a few days later. Neither Amazon nor the manufacturer were able to issue me a refund. Worst purchase ever, wouldn't recommend unless you buy extended warranty or if you are ok with throwing $320 to the trash. Also, I didn't like the proprietary mini HDMI cable/port. The cable is great but expensive if you wanted to replace it or hard to find.Look for something else. It made me hesitant to buy products like this from Amazon ever again.

Best second screen on the market
i have had two other screens over the years but this one is excellent.pros- well designed and most functional. very excellent japanese design.- good illumination (much better than other competitors)- stand has magnetic holder so you can adjust the angle as you like. very well done.- monitor cable is well fitted and stable. something that was an issue with other screens. also this has only one cable going into the screen. very well made.cons- pricing is double of other brands. and in highsight it is all worth it.and i wished i paid the usd 50 extra for the touch screen version. it is worth it,

Unacceptable signal sync glitches
Purchased to use as 2nd HDMI “Monitor” screen in A/V cabinet. Super slim, convenient cabling. Unfortunately, every input switch causes a 2 - 5 second “Screen Rebooting” message even when every source is 1920x1080 @ 59.94hz (NTSC) , which is intolerable when navigating TV or Apple TV menus that blip the signal when exiting menu levels.

Fantastic 'Extra' for both Windows and Macs
I've only had this for a little over a week but it has been fantastic. I've verified it works fine with Windows 10 (on both an HP and a Lenovo laptop) and with MacOS (MacBook Pro).My daughter has also been using it and found it very helpful to have a second monitor on her laptop while doing university homework. I'll likely be picking up a second one soon!I have an older Toshiba USB/DisplayLink monitor that never got that much use. It was helpful at times, but I did not care for the delay caused by the USB/DisplayLink drivers, it does not have near the resolution of the GeChic, and it is much larger and heavier. I already travel with two laptops, I didn't find lugging the equivalent of a third to be that useful. My only negative to this is the proprietary cable. It looks like it should hold up well, but if it fails I know I will not be able to get a quick and easy replacement.

Durable enough for my travel needs
I took the monitor on the road right after testing it out at home. The cable is a bit loose on the monitor connection so there could be some improvement there, but if you push it in hard and keep the monitor in one general area there isn’t any issue. The monitor held up to my general airport abuse and doing some demos in side meetings at a convention. It is easy to set up, light weight, and the display quality is good when it comes to providing software demonstrations. Should be nice for when I travel to our other offices and want a second monitor when working remote from my office.

Good picture quality, Parquette approved
It's a nice monitor, and it stands firm. My computer does not have enough power to support it so I needed to plug in the monitor power source (included). Picture looks good, and it is the same size as my laptop so it's a good backpack fit. The stand is held in place by a magnet. I don't know anything about tech, so I don't know if storing magnets next to other digital media in the same bag is an issue or not.
