Amazfit Balance

I've had some heart issues for a long time and this past year, they've gotten to the point where I need to do closer monitoring. Then, in July, I had a loop monitor implanted. While it sends a reading to my cardiologist's office every night, I needed something that would alert me when my heart rate fell above or below the doctor's parameters for my situation. I did a lot of research into a lot of watches. I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra so looked at the Galaxy watches and tried one, but the battery life is terrible. I needed a watch that had a battery that would last more than 12 hours with constant heart monitoring. I was already using an Amazfit GTS 4 Mini and loved it, the battery lasted almost 14 days, but it had no alert for heart rate and also was missing a couple other things I wanted/needed, so after looking at so-many-watches, I decided to try the Balance. So here's my review. The watch is large. At least for me, but the screen is amazing! Clear, easy to read, Amoled so the color is great. I chose to use the 'use your own photo' watch face which is new (I think) for Amazfit and I like it. There are several others to choose from and if they stay true to form, more will be added. There are a lot of apps pre-loaded on the watch and a lot to choose from to load so that would probably appeal to many who will use this for fitness. I do not so I can't speak to the fitness portion of the watch. I keep track of my steps/activity on the whole, but not any specific exercise. I got the watch on September 2nd, charged it, and with all of the heart associated apps turned on to run all the time (including running the heart rate monitor every 60 seconds,) I didn't have to charge it until the 11th, and even then, I was still at 18%, but we were going on vacation, so the battery life is great. Like I mentioned, the watch is huge, at least for me. It's 46mm, but light weight, so I don't really notice it much. It has a relatively slim profile on the wrist so I'm not banging into things with it like I thought I would. I did change the band to a stainless steel one because any silicone bands cause a rash for me. Those are the basics. Here's some of the pros and cons. PROS: Huge, clear, bright face that's easy to read, even for people who need glasses. Several watch faces to choose from including one you can personalize. Big plus! Heart/Health monitoring has been pretty accurate so far as tested at the cardiologist's office Sleep monitoring seems to be accurate, matching those times I wake during the night Will follow DND on your phone Will sync with Google Fit and a couple other third party health apps now Different sounds per alerts so you know what alerts are coming in (can't change them though) Syncs well with Zepp app and changes on app are immediate on watch Silicone band will fit a 5-1/2" to 10"+ wrist CONS: NO ECG. None of the watches Amazfit sells in the US has ECG. That was the first question I asked them and from their response, for the foreseeable future, they will not have a watch in the US that has that. The winder is very large and really sits high on the watch. It has the potential to catch on things and does during the night so if you use DND and wear it to bed, it will catch on the sheets at some point, wake the watch, waking you. No tap-to-wake, which my GT4 Mini had and which I miss a lot. It will still 'lift to wake' if you set that, otherwise, you have to push the winder. Second button on the watch is for workout information which I don't use, but it's very flat and seems like it would be hard to use while very active. "Rotate the crown" must mean the winder because the crown doesn't rotate and while the winder does, it only makes the face larger and not permanently Takes a 22mm watch band! Don't make the mistake of buying a 20mm which is a standard size. BEWARE! I went a whole day without getting any notifications. I reached out to Amazfit and they had no idea why I wasn't getting any either. Low and behold, there's an option called Cover To Mute. If that's checked and you're wearing a long sleeve shirt or sweater that covers the watch, you won't receive any notifications because the face is covered. Just letting you know! That's a flyover of the watch. On the whole, I like it. I've never been a big fan of the Zepp world. I'd be a lot happier if it was Android OS of course, but I understand their desire to work with either Android or Apple. They're getting smoother with the interaction between their OS and Android though. I'm sure I've missed a bunch, but this will give you a good idea at least.

I love this watch It has loads of features and usages. I love the various helps - like various exercise tracing, multiple free watch faces I like to switch up from time to time. I also really like the ability to answer my phone when it is in another room. Clear voice quality (from both ends) even a nice music feature (play play lists etc). But my favorite feature is the Batter life - I have see it go 10+ days - we took a 7 day trip to Hawaii and it went in the water, and tracked notifications, text messages and more with NO issue for the charger I forget to pack. It IS Amazingly-FIT

After my Pebble 2 SE started to wear down I switched over to the Amazfit Bip because at the time it was the only comparable smartwatch with similar battery life. Since then I upgraded to the GTS2e and now to the Balance. Needless to say I haven't found a reason to move away from Amazfit as I have always been happy with their watches. The most important feature for me is the battery life, I hate having one more thing to worry about charging if I travel or am away from a power source most of the day. Though I have only been using the Balance for a few days, based on my experience so far I'm pretty confident you could go at least 7 days without needing a charge so long as you don't use the always on display or excessive GPS tracking. I have also enjoyed Amazfit's built in watch apps, they provide everything I need in a watch; notifications, the ability to take calls/respond to texts, a timer, alarm, and a find my mobile function that makes your phone ring when you misplace it. The Balance also introduces an app store where additional apps can be downloaded. Its fairly limited compared to what is offered by Apple or Google, but its nice to have the option. The health tracking is just an added bonus in my book. As for the accuracy, I think it is accurate enough for what it is and can give you a good general sense of where your health metrics are at. It likely isn't as accurate as higher end fitness focused watches, but considering the cost, battery life, and user experience features it includes that are more akin to a traditional smart watch I think its a worthy compromise. The recent update to Zepp OS 3.5 has added its own built in AI assistant, Zepp Flow. It's nothing ground breaking, but it is nice to have and can make doing things like setting a timer, alarm, or starting a workout as easy as asking the watch to do it for you. It also includes Amazon Alexa which can be useful for controlling other smart home devices. Physically its very comfortable to wear, being thin and lightweight. I wear it all day and at night when sleeping without any issues whatsoever. The screen is also very vibrant and can get surprisingly bright which makes it easy to see even in direct sunlight. The included silicone watch strap is also comfortable and has a nice added feature. In the past I have had issues with silicone bands as the keeper that prevents the excess band from flopping around would wear down and allow the band to slip out, requiring me to constantly adjust it and slip it back in. The keeper on the included band has a small notch in it that allows it to plug into the last hole on the band so this should prevent it from slipping out in the future. Overall I think its a great watch for anyone that is looking for something in-between a dedicated fitness device and smart watch, it provides the best of both worlds at a reasonable price.

I waited a full year before writing this review to ensure it reflects long-term, real-world use of the Amazfit Balance. I primarily wanted a watch for activity tracking, heart rate monitoring, and basic phone notifications—not for music, calls, or texting. Previously, I used both Fitbit and Garmin devices. Build & Setup: The watch is solidly built and looks great—definitely comparable to much more expensive options like Garmin. Battery life is excellent. It paired easily with my iPhone, and setup was smooth. App Experience: The Zepp app is functional but clunky. I don’t recommend paying for the subscription services—they mostly provide vague, AI-generated insights that aren’t useful. Also, skip the paid watch faces. The WFAmazfit app offers a ton of great free options. Customization: The included fabric band wasn’t for me, but I easily swapped it out for third-party bands. Having color options is a nice bonus. Activity Tracking: I use this mainly for outdoor cycling, kayaking, and hiking. It syncs well with Strava, which has been my go-to platform for years. Once paired, workouts upload to Strava quickly and reliably. Heart Rate Monitor & Device Integration: This spring, I added a Garmin 1050 cycling computer and wanted to use the Amazfit as a heart rate monitor. Unfortunately, the integration is a bit awkward—you must enable HRM broadcast and start an activity on the watch to transmit data. This caused activity duplication in Strava, so I had to unlink Amazfit from Strava for cycling and will re-link it for other activities like hiking or kayaking. Not ideal. Final Thoughts: After a year of regular use, I confidently recommend the Amazfit Balance if you’re looking for a durable, budget-friendly fitness tracker with excellent battery life. Notifications work well, fitness tracking is accurate, and the variety of free watch faces is a nice touch. The only real downsides: • The Zepp app is underwhelming. • Heart rate monitor pairing with third-party devices like Garmin is clunky. If Amazfit improves those areas, this could easily be a 5-star product.

I came from an Apple Watch Ultra 2 to this watch, and the only thing I really miss is the ability to respond to texts directly from the watch, which I liked on the Apple Watch. Also, the speaker can get slightly muffled if you wear the watch too snug on your wrist, but you learn to adjust your wrist, and people have said I still sound clear on the other end. Those are really my only complaints so far. I really like the battery life. With the Apple Watch Ultra, I felt like I was charging it every two days. With this one, I get up to seven days with normal use. I usually take the watch off every other night to let my wrist breathe. I also like the workout modes and how easy it is to set up the watch for walks. It automatically stops and starts, which is convenient. The map tracking is accurate, and I haven’t had any issues with it. Also, the sleep tracking gives me a good idea of my quality of sleep and like it overall. I appreciate that there are a lot of free watch faces, along with some paid options, which isn’t a big deal. I prefer circular watches, and pairing this one with the right band gives it a more classic look. If you’re looking for a watch that tracks daily activities and doesn’t break the bank, this is one to check out. I honestly don’t miss my Apple Watch Ultra at all. I like that this one looks more like a traditional watch and doesn’t feel clunky on my wrist.

The Amazfit Balance is, without question, one of the most practical smartwatches I’ve ever owned. It does everything I need and nothing I don’t. Where other wearables try to dazzle with features that rarely see real-world use, the Balance keeps things focused, efficient, and incredibly user-friendly. What stands out most is its exceptional battery life. Compared to my Samsung Watch 6 Classic, it’s no contest. While I was used to charging every day or two, the Balance easily lasts over a week on a single charge. That makes it ideal for extended trips with no charger anxiety and no proprietary cables to fuss over. Just freedom. It is also remarkably lightweight, to the point that I forget it’s even on. That makes it the perfect sleep companion with no bulky wrist presence or discomfort in bed. And despite its featherlight feel, it doesn’t skimp on looks. The sleek, understated design is polished enough for professional settings, stylish enough for social events like weddings, and durable enough for a hard workout at the gym. The wristband it comes with (silver model) is cheesy and not my style at all but thankfully an Amazon seller has a silicone band that is utterly perfect, and even fills in the gaps that most bands leave open...making it look like it comes with the way (more than the actual factory band). In short, the Amazfit Balance is the rare smartwatch that delivers exactly what matters: excellent tracking, long battery life, and true everyday wearability, without the clutter. It’s a quietly capable watch that fits any occasion and never gets in the way. Its my favorite smartwatch amongst all I've ever owned...cant wait for the 2nd gen.

The Good: Nice battery life (I got about 7 days or so, which is a lot less than advertised), pretty nice fitness tracking (With mixed results in accuracy), and comes with an awesome watch band. The rotating crown is a must have feature for my watches. This does it. The lightweight feeling of this watch is incredible. I didn't notice how much I liked it until using it vs heavier watches. The Bad: Poor screen resolution. I heard good things about the screen on this thing and to be fair, at points it looked perfectly fine like when scrolling menus. What I found weird is that the watch faces (the part I probably will look at the most) were always blurry. Not like I couldn't read it, but just really fuzzy lines on text and icons. The watch face options were so limited and the customization was really poor. Zepp Pay is NOT AVAILABLE IN THE US. I don't know why I thought it was available but it was not. Mixed results: Voice Assistants- I liked Zepp flow but it was pretty inconsistent. It can do more than, say, Google Assistant at times, but at other times, it felt like it was confused. Most of the time it got what I said wrong, which became quite frustrating. The Alexa voice assistant was fairly okay. Just overall basic. I preferred Zepp flow. The build quality is all right. It's more budget-friendly, sure, but it just felt cheap compared to similarly priced watches. I liked the color however Samsung: Now, Samsung is just going to be more expensive. Some of the older models will have a more competitive price point. A watch 6 classic on sale could be a better move. The battery life on Samsung is much worse but it's more feature-rich and capable. Also likely to have more premium build quality. That paired with the app store and Google Assistant just makes the amazfit feel so much worse. Huawei: Huawei is quite limited in the US but so is the Amazfit. From my testing the Huawei GT4 had about double the battery life at 14 days and can probably do more. It also felt more premium, had a better screen and more options. For a little bit more you can get a much better experience here.

I tried the Amazfit Balance, again, a few weeks after returning one that I couldn't get to pair properly with my Note8. Well, this time I was successful. It takes a while to get it working right with the setup. All permissions have to be granted via the Zepp App and the phone has to run the App with battery optimization turned off. I have bern using it now for a few weeks and love it. It checks all the boxes for me: 1. Accurate pulse and Ox sat checked against an accurate finger pulse Ox. No BP but no watch really does a great job with that. 2. Accurate GPS with on watch path tracking and ability to add navigation as you go directions using an add on app. 3. Bright screen with a built in light sensor that adjusts screen brightness automatically. 4. Alexa assistance. (My only disappointment is no voice directed dialing and no playing of the News. Otherwise, it does everything that Alexa should do. 5. Phone calls can be dialed by pressing on a contact in the watch contact list. 6. Good battery life even with most features turned on. I am getting over 12 days usage. 7. Notifications received on watch consistently well. While there is no keyboard with which to send a response, within the Zepp App you can customize preset responses that you send with the watch. 8. The watch layout of all features is sensibly arranged with ability to customize what you use most in any order you want. 9. Workouts gallore with analysis afterwards. 10. Sleep scoring and recommendations. Watch automatically goes into Sleep or nap mode. You can automatically turn off wrist raise screen turn on, by setting a schedule. At its price point, now $199 on Amazon, there's really nothing out there that offers so much.

I had the Amazfit GTR 3 for 3 years prior to purchasing this Amazfit Balance and never had any issues with that watch, so figured I would upgrade to this one. I have had this smart watch for 7 days and have noticed a huge upgrade in the performance of the health tracking sensors over the GTR 3. All of the health metrics are more accurate and more reliable and there are more on this watch compared to the GTR 3. I really like the addition of the body composition detection (but strongly recommend getting a mat to give a full body scan). I also like the addition of the skin temperature sensor which is absolutely spot on as it can give an indication of your general health and if you are running the risk of heat exhaustion or hypothermia, it also tracks your sleeping temperature and gives feedback of your overall sleep quality along with the standard sleep cycle tracking, oxygen levels, sleep apnea or hyponea tracking. The heart sensor is more accurate and offers continuous heart rate tracking while exercising, resting heart rate tracking, and heart rate variability while sleeping to give a better indication of overall heart health. Now this watch also includes a readiness score based on 2 metrics, physical recovery and mental recovery based on physical activity from the day before and how well you slept overnight. There are so many features on this watch that I would literally have to right a novel to explain them all. I do like the that I can answer and make phone calls directly from the watch (via Bluetooth) and the fact that there is several ways to reply to text messages (that now show recieved images). You can do a quick response, use the built-in keyboard, or use the Zepp Flow assistant to type your speech to text, and it's very accurate at converting your speech to text. I have also found out that Amazfit is working on a blood pressure algorithm for this watch that will be brought out shortly. The GPS tracking is absolutely spot on in my tests and acquires a lock very fast. I appreciate the quality of this watch in both fit and finish with its large amoled display that has a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, easy to see even in direct sunlight (similar brightness to the Google Pixel 8 phone that I use). I honestly haven't seen a better smartwatch for the price made by anyone else, and the fact that it runs on Android and iOS only makes it more versatile. Before I finish the battery life is exceptional, I am using roughly 6% battery per day of moderate usage with all sensors on and sleep tracking enabled, the only thing I don't use is the always on display as my watch is normally covered by my sleeve so I am getting around 16 days before I have to recharge the watch. The only thing I would recommend anyone who gets this watch to do is put a screen protector on it because it can scratch quite easily. Great smartwatch, great software, great battery life, and really useful updates put out by Amazfit. Thanks Amazon for carrying this product.

Watch was great initially. After about 8 months, the screen was totally non visible outdoor. Tried increasing the brightness but to no avail.

Much better than these all expensive brands. Does all the functions as stated and the battery lasts more than 10 days even with extensive usage. No more hustle to charge the watch after every two days. The only downside is the Specific charger, the charging pin could have a USB-C link to use with any cable instead of taking the whole charger assembly with me.
