They are very useful, especially being able to move them. Quick and easy to assemble without tools (30 mins tops), shelves are adjustable in 1” increments, and they’re lightweight for moving around/moving house, but still strong. This one measures 59 x 34 x 82 cm, including the poles sticking up above top shelf. Don’t like that: didn’t notice that with the chrome one, the top shelf does not sit right at the top of the poles, but about 1 cm below (doesn't look to be the case with black one). This isn't a problem if you don't want to put anything larger than the shelf on the top, but my plant trays are slightly larger.. On the plus side, the shelves have 15 wires, whereas some only have 10, which makes these more stable and stronger. Mainly, the weight restrictions are due to the castors, in my view. On levelling feet, I can’t see these shelves breaking under even heavy loads. The castors are larger than on some others, 6 cm diameter. But the fastening bolts are still 5 mm diameter – too small to use standard castors as replacement, which is very annoying and a failing with most of these cheaper shelves. You can’t buy castors with anything smaller than 8 mm bolts anywhere, as far as I can see. Once a castor breaks, you can only use the feet, or replace the whole shelf (as I had to do with my previous one). I use these for plants/seed trays, and saw a few enquiries about wet/damp environments: outdoors/greenhouse/balcony/for plants etc. After buying, I realised that the black version is far more suitable for this, as plastic coated, so far less likely to rust. My chrome shelves are starting to rust in places – can be removed with elbow grease and WD40, but is work intensive. My black shelves, however, have not rusted at all . Would say the black ones are suitable for using in greenhouse/for plants/on covered balcony etc, but think outdoors they would probably still rust (at least eventually). At the moment these are not modular (or very adaptable - you can leave out one shelf with these 3 tiered ones), but easily could be: the plastic caps that sit at the top of the poles can be unscrewed on one of my other shelves (but not on these), and if the same size as the screw fitting between the pole sections (and for the bolts for feet/castors), these could be modular. Ideally, they’d also sell spare parts/extra shelves etc, but even without that, you’d have the option of combining multiple shelves of different heights, or splitting one large shelf maybe. You get one set of spare clips with these, btw, as with most of these shelves and I don’t think you can buy any other spares or extra shelves. But for this price, you can't really expect too much - even for double the price, you only get replaceable castors. If you want to be able to add shelves or other extras, or modify it, you've got to pay a lot more.. Overall, this is good quality for the money, and apart from the position of the top shelf, would be happy with it.

The shelves arrived well-packaged and with a clear instruction booklet. Easy assembly meant they were ready to fill within half an hour. The shelves are wide, strong and hold many objects; they look good and are easy to move around. I am contemplating buying another set as they look so good and can be used anywhere. For those who are struggling to assemble the shelves, may I suggest that you sit down with the instruction booklet and make sure that you understand the instructions before you begin. Also, reading through the reviews on here for tips on correct assembly would be beneficial.

Instructions were useless. First attempt resulted in very wobbly shelves. From looking at the picture on this site I realised that I had the shelves upside-down. They are supposed to slide over the black clips, not rest on them. Now have a satisfactory set of shelves.

Oddly, this was my second choice but I am so glad I bought it! It turned out to be far better than my 1st choice in many ways and £10 cheaper! It's easy to erect in situ if you are keeping it in one place. I already had experience of erecting this type of shelf unit. If you need instructions you do have to look online which I would find annoying. It's easier to use your wits: If this helps this is what I did: Take the 4 bottom poles. If you want castors, take off the already installed adjustable feet and replace with the castors. Decide where you want the first shelf. I did this by evaluating where the middle shelf would go. I had to incorporate room for an electricity plug. Attach the pairs of "this way up" black grips where you will have the shelf. Slide on first shelf, from the top down obviously!. Screw the upper bits of the poles to the bottom ones. Decide where you want the next shelf. Attach the "this way up" pairs of black clips. Slide the middle shelf over the legs and into place. The rim faces downwards. (I tried putting it upwards on the top shelf by reversing the "this way up" black grips, because I thought the rim might stop things falling off - it didn't work! I couldn't make the shelf go on that way round, even with the black clips turned upside down.) Finally put the 'this way up' grips on for the top shelf and put it on! I had to give it a small persuasion on one corner with my rubber mallet used for erecting my tent. In fact I found it very much like putting up the tent crossed with lego/mechano. Easy. I'm disabled by pain all over especially in my hands and back. I still managed. I put it on the work-top to make it so it was at an easy height and I could sit when I needed.

This is a great little unit very sturdy when completed, easy to manoeuvre, can lock two of the wheels to stop it moving about, I can’t say as I have any complaints for the price and being metal great value, it was easy to put together after I watched a you tube video as it doesn’t tell you in the instructions that the support clips for the shelves don’t close all the way together until the shelves are put on, so there was me trying to push them together and hurting my fingers and getting very cross because I thought I was too weak to close them so be warned they don’t close together completely until inside the shelve sleeve after that discovery it was simple lol

These are great simple heavy duty aswell perfect for my needs Simple to put together in about 10 mins needed for extra kitchen storage and the best bit is they are on wheels so when can be wheeled out if needed Relly pleased

Very easy to put together, I have two in my shed , very sturdy but light weight, can use them with or without the wheels, much better then the plastic versions I’ve owned in the past . They would be great for use in the closet as well as a shoe rack. I would buy again.
