Perfectly suited for being the single wire connecting my MacBook to the monitor
I needed a high quality, preferably thunderbolt cable which I knew would be built to last and premium, and this in particular jumped out to me for a few reasons. For one, it was far cheaper than Apple's own thunderbolt cable equivalent, and seemed to be the same if not better quality. Additionally, it was braided, which of course would help with the durability. Now my monitor is a little weird, as it has a built-in USB hub (Gigabyte M27Q), so I wanted to leverage this by only having to use one cable for everything (bar the charging, although it works fine for this as well). Cable arrived intact, and had a very premium presentation. When I got everything all set up, it worked flawlessly: keyboard, mouse, audio, (another) USB hub all connected into my MacBook through just one cable - amazing. I'm able to display 170Hz through this cable to the monitor, useful for certain games like Minecraft. I even tried using a hard drive connected to the USB hub, and it works perfectly well, proving just how fast this cable is. To boot, I've been using this cable in this similar setup for almost a year, and it is as good as it has ever been. For my personal use-case, being able to bring my MacBook away from the setup and back just by plugging and unplugging one single cable is truly invaluable. So would I recommend it? Certainly. If it can handle my specific somewhat high demand use-case for this cable, it can definitely handle whatever you might use it for. Save yourself a good £50 by just getting this cable instead.

real deal. I bought at 50% off so dont know about now
the cable has a premium feel and the knitted body has a soft yet durable feel. overall it does what it says on the box. of course if you are going to use it for display I would go with original apple cables as you dont need flex there. I use it to transfer stuff from external ssd to computer and its blazing fast and doesnt seem it will break any time soon. I prefer the super flexible cables from anker for charging stuff as this is a bit stiffer than them . however if you want only 1 cable then this is it. charging data transfer 240w tb5 usb4 all in 1 and all backward compatible. what else could you ask for. I bought these at 50% off in august I guess . so for me the price was super nice. however I also bought this at full price when released new so that says a lot about quality

Worth the Money
Like other Satechi kit I've used, this Thunderbolt 4 cable is a high-quality product. The braided cable feels robust yet flexible. Connectors are an ideal fit for any USB-C port - very much in the necessary Goldilocks zone (not too tight, not too loose). In terms of performance, the cable is capable of living up to Thunderbolt 4's maximum theoretical limits (as long as it's used with equipment that can also live up to that). So if you're using the cable with a Thunderbolt 4 laptop and docking station, for example, you'll be able to achieve ultra-fast data-transfer speeds - something that could save you a lot of time in the long run. Used with 8K monitors or televisions, the cable can deliver video with true 60 Hz flicker-free frequency (as long as the connected equipment is capable of 8K@60Hz). My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to use gold-plated connectors in future incarnations of the product. Gold is a better conductor and would make an excellent cable even better.

A well made certified Thunderbolt 4 cable.
A well made certified Thunderbolt 4 cable I have had this in use now for six-weeks. It has reliably provided charging for my laptop and a stable high speed connection to a hub and full fibre broadband via 2.5Gb ethernet. Time will tell about the long-term durability. Hence fours stars for now.

High quality Thunderbolt 4 lead with the correct specifications.
Satechi is an established brand , so it’s of no surprise this cable not only works as advertised , but is made to a high standard. The cable itself is very durable and nylon so it won’t tangle easily. The plugs have a moulded rubberised outer that is finished to a high standard and the whole thing feels premium. More importantly it works as advertised giving the functionality that TB 4 brings, allowing you to connect monitors and offering high speed data transfers if your equipment is up to specification. At just under forty pounds it may seem expensive for a cable , but there is a lot going on inside a TB 4 cable, it’s not just wires , and in my experience it’s not something you want to cheap out on if you want the correct specifications and the correct equipment to utilise it.

Solved screen dropouts with OWC dock
After having issues with drives and display screen dropping out on my laptop when using an OWC Thunderbolt Dock 3, this cable has solved the problem despite the one with the dock being allegedly Thunderbolt 3. Not really a surprise as I'm used to Satechi's hardware being good, but still pleasing after trying several Thunderbolt rated cables. I also tried it with my Apollo interface and it's equally stable. Don't bother trying to find a cheaper cable, this will work, a lot of the alleged TB3/4 cables I've tried... don't.

I haven't measured the speeds, but it seems to work well with Mac computers, iPad and iPhone.

TLDR: The win here is epic, to say the least, and it's gone down as one of my favourite purchases... ever. e I love this cable - in fact, it's my favourite of all time, and I've had them all - Anker, UGREEN, Belkin, Apple, Samsung, the list goes on and on. This Thunderbolt 4 cable... I didn't think it would be possible to cram that kind of technology - such high, high quality technology, that is the "latest and greatest" - into a streamlined cable. But Satechi, as always, have proven me wrong, and they've done it! Straight out of the box, the 1 metre cable virtually hung completely vertically, it was as straight as an arrow, ie, it wasn't twisted at all, I didn't need to roll it out and leave it overnight, hidden under some books, to get it straight. The thin nature also allows for easy cable management, which is truly a dream. It's very flexible and was easy to hide out of sight. I use it to connect my Macbook Air M3 with my Dell 27" 4K monitor. I then use the Macbook in "clamshell" mode, with the Dell monitor as my main screen. For that purpose, this thunderbolt cable works incredibly well. As I said - easy to cable manage - but the video and audio come through, crystal clear, no issues whatsoever. Given that my Dell monitor is also a "USB hub", it charges the Macbook at the full 65W that it is capable of (I checked in the Mac's system information) (can't recommend "USB hub" monitors enough, by the way). So I essentially have: a 27" 4K monitor, hooked up to power, then one slim, streamlined, sexy black cable (aka Satechi Certified USB-C Thunderbolt 4 Cable) connecting said 4K monitor to my Macbook Air M3. That cable then charges the laptop, at 65W, and it sends and receives audio/video from the screen - all at once. The mouse and keyboard are Logitech (e.g. MX Keys), both are bluetooth (or can use receiver if need be)... so there are zero cables on my desk. However, it is also super easy for me to plug into the bottom of my monitor a USB-C cable, so that I can charge my phone at my desk. Otherwise... it's peacefully clutter-free. It is truly the ultimate WFH setup. To only "need" two cables - power to the monitor and thunderbolt to the laptop - is crazy. I'm in love. And when I go out, all I need to do is unplug the thunderbolt and chuck the laptop into my backpack. That's it - and it will be 100% charged, having been plugged into the "USB hub". Ultimately, I'd give this 6 out of 5, if I could. It's thin, it's very easy to manage, it is good for cable management, it is sleek, sexy and oh so black, and most importantly - it just does a damn good job at transferring data and power. Go for it - you won't be disappointed, truly. The amount of compliments I get about a) the picture quality, b) the sound quality, c) the look and feel of the cable, and d) my cable management is crazy. The quality is palpable - I'm even tempted to get one just to charge my iPhone! 🤣Or, in any event, to charge my M3 Air. The only "issue" I had was choosing a length - I went for 1 metre, but mainly because I figured the Macbook is never going to be more than 1 metre away from the screen. Of course, some people will need a longer cable, but if you can get away with 1 metre, go for it. Keeps it less complex and By the way - Satechi also make the "USB 4 Pro Cable, USB-IF certified, 240W Power Delivery". I haven't had or used that product, so I can't comment on it, but I will note this - many reviews say that is a thick cable. This is not a thick cable, not at all. And for me - at least - it was worth paying ~$20 extra to get a certified, current generation thunderbolt 4 cable. But YMMV, everyone has different needs, and the USB 4 Pro cable may suit some people - I'm sure it's excellent quality, given the brand. This - and perhaps that cable - are easily up to Apple's standards. I will update my review if need be, but for now, it's smooth sailing. EPIC WIN - get it now!!! You will not be disappointed. 4.7 stars from so many reviews tells it all, really.
