Great present to buy for somebody else's children.
Bought this for my daughter (3 years old at the time), who was inexplicably obsessed with diggers at the time. It comes with 2 batteries which seem to last quite a while and a USB-A charger. If you have other remote control toys with rechargeable batteries, you'll likely already have one of these. I'm fairly sure we have 3 or 4 now. The digger itself is actually pretty sturdy and has survived being dropped a few times and getting picked up by the arm (is that the word?) regularly. It's fairly easy to use, although the tracks on it move quite slowly and are a bit noisy and start to grate on anybody who isn't a child after a few minutes. It also has a button on the controller to turn on generic engine noises and a button for 'demo mode' where it just ambles about on its own with no particular purpose. If this toy resides in your house, I suggest filling these buttons with superglue. Functionality-wise, it's pretty fiddly to pick things up with the bucket (which isn't to say that I, a man in his forties, haven't spent far too long trying to do), but I suppose most kids will be happy just driving it around and swinging the cab about like my kid does. In short, if you're buying a toy for somebody else's children or if you're not easily irritated by motors whirring and the sound of plastic gears trying to strip themselves, it's a pretty good present. In fact it's a good present in short bursts either way - I have spent a good while messing about with it (and terrorizing the cats with it), and it's still trucking away to this day - nearly 2 years later.

Remote doesn't connect
The controller would not connect to the digger. No guidance in manual or online what to do if this happens. Tried changing batteries and making sure everything was charged but nothing.
